They were friends again but not that close like the last time. Time will only tell when it is their time to be together.
"Congrats newly-elected president." he approached her on her locker.
"Congrats to you too, team captain."He gave her a golden smile, "you wanna hang out later?"
"Lemme see if nothing comes up," she smirks-----
"Here are the notes," she gave him her calculus notebook.
"Actually, if you're not busy. Can you teach me this? I promise I won't hold you," he begged
"I'll do it if you gotta pay me," she joked.
"What? Are you running a business now?"
"My time is valuable. Everyone needs me here now."
She still allotted time to teach her friend basic calculus. They were sitting at the library.
"See here, you need to substitute it first to the functions and do the rest of the operation," she was whispering and pointing at stuff on her notebook.
He understood it at their first try but he wants to keep her longer.
She wrote a problem on his notebook for him to answer, "try solving this one."
In minutes, he answered it correctly, making her doubt that he is not that stupid at all.
"I think we are done here." she started packing up her things.
He wanted to protest but that would be too obvious.
"Thank you for teaching me," he said
"Well you're not that hard to teach at all." she jokingly rolled her eyes.
"Hey, uhm. Remember what I said to you at the party. Let's forget about that. I was in the heat of a moment and was very lonely at that time," he lied.
"I know. You're a bad liar," she took her bag.
"Just to be clear, so we don't have anything against each other," he kept pushing his lie.
"Of course, I don't fall in love. And, I don't feel anything at all. I might as well be asexual." she keeps on rambling, what she always does when she was upset or nervous.
She later walked at home, with her eyes stuck on the pavement. Kicking the acorn she found from school to her house. She was devastated that things aren't going too well for her, especially Damien. Her little secret, she liked him but now it's too late for her. At least, she didn't do anything that she will regret later in life.

Weeks later, she was busy planning for a new school project and he was busy training. Their dreams were planned out. Both are going to an honorable university and nothing can break their plan. But, there is one thing that's been bothering them, a hole that is living inside their soul.
"Why can't you just tell him that you like him?" her sister butt in as y/n kept staring outside the window.
"What are you talking about?" she was shaken up from her daydreaming.
"Damien. You like him. Obviously." she said
She doesn't try to deny at this point, "it's not that easy. He doesn't like me."
"Of course, he does. Boys tell you that they don't like you but they do. You wanna know why?" her sister said in the sassiest voice possible.
"Why?" she raised her eyebrow
