KINLEY LAY IN HER BED, texting the groupchat. it had been almost a week since the boys left and she missed them greatly, some more than others. she got up to go to the kitchen and grab a snack when her phone rang. her eyes went wide when she saw that reece was requesting to facetime. she hurried to the bathroom and finger combed her hair. she also splashed some water on her face so she didn't look so sleepy. kinley hoped reece wouldn't notice the dark circles under her eyes, she hadn't had a good night's sleep since the day he left. if he saw the bags, he would worry, and kin didn't want that.

after she dried her face off, she quickly ran back to her bed and answered the call. it connected almost immediately, revealing reece's smiling face. "hello!" he said cheerfully, happy to see kinley's face again. still slightly out of breath, kin took a moment before responding, "hey reecie!" just as she had feared, reece's grin turned into a frown when he noticed the dark circles under mckinley's eyes. "you haven't been sleeping?" she looked down slightly, "no, not really. i haven't been able to." he shook his head, "have you told scout? maybe she could come over." the girl shook her head, "no. absolutely not. it would only worry her and i don't want to do that."

sighing in frustration, reece ran a hand through his hair. "well you have to do something kiki. you can't just not sleep." "i know know. and i promise i'll figure it out." an idea came to him and reece looked up, "for tonight, just stay on facetime with me. we'll talk for a while. i'll tell you how recording is going and you can tell me about your next shoot. okay?" kinley smiled, "yeah, i'd really like that. the boy and girl talked until midnight. reece was in the middle of a story when he noticed the soft snores coming from his phone. he smiled, and went to sleep with the comfort that he gave mckinley a reprieve from her sleepless nights.
