"I MADE BREAKFAST," mckinley told reece as she nudged him on the ground with her foot. he stirred and began to sit up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. "good morning reece," kin told him as she sat down beside him. he laid his head down on her shoulder, "do you have to leave today?" she pulled away and gazed dejectedly at the boy, "you know i do, i have a huge shoot lined up for wednesday and i can't miss it."
reece sighed and rubbed his eyes again, "i know. i just really don't want you to go. the past few days have been amazing." kinley's lips curled into a smile, and reece leaned over to kiss her. just as he did, kin pulled away with her nose wrinkled, "no way, you have morning breath mister." reece rolled his eyes and went to brush his teeth. before leaving the room, kinley told him, "breakfast is in the kitchen when you're done." cracking a smile, reece said, "wow we're practically an old married couple already."
kinley returned to the kitchen and set out the french toast she had made for herself and reece. blake and scout had gone out for breakfast earlier; and george and serenity had gone on a sunrise hike early that morning. kin poured out two glasses of orange juice and sat down to wait for reece. when he emerged from the bedroom, kinley grabbed the two plates and told him to grab the juices. they went outside and enjoyed a quiet breakfast together on the house's deck.
"what time did you say your plane was?" reece asked after they had finished eating. "around four o'clock. so we should probably be out of the house by 1:30." reece groaned, "do you know how much i really, really don't want you to leave." mckinley cupped reece's face in her hands and held their foreheads together. "i know reece. me too." reece felt kinley's shoulders begin to shake slightly as she cried. he wrapped his arms around her and held her tight. "don't cry kiki, we'll still facetime and text all the time." she pulled away, wiping at her eyes, and told him, "but it won't be the same." "i know love. i'm gonna miss you a lot but i'm also gonna call and text you every single day." mckinley hugged reece again, "you better. or i will fly back here just to kick your butt."
the rest of their time together quickly vanished as the day went on. soon, george and serenity returned from their hike. then blake and scout from their date. the entire group was in the living room, trying to make the most of their remaining time together. they only had about twenty minutes left until they had to start. the group talked and laughed, trying to forget about the dwindling time until the girls' departure. but the time did come, and soon, they were putting their suitcases into the car and driving to the airport.
once they arrived, the boys waited in front of security while the girls checked their baggage. "we have a about ten minutes until we need to go into security," serenity told scout and mckinley. the two nodded and went to talk to their boyfriends. "shortcake, come here," blake told scout, his arms held out for a hug. she jumped into his arms, wrapping her legs around his waist. "you mean the world to me blake, and i'm gonna miss you so much." she whispered into his neck. "me too shortcake," he pulled back, a smile creeping into his face, "i guess it's a good thing that i slid into your dms then huh?" scout jumped down and lightly hit blake's shoulder, "shut up loser."
serenity and george stood near scout and blake, talking about their time together in london. "ren, i know i haven't known you for long, but i want to tell you something." serenity nodded, looking at george expectantly. "you're beautiful and funny and completely charming. and i'm not gonna lie, i've got it bad for you." ren giggled at the boy's words. "but i also wanted to let you know that next time we're together, i'm gonna ask you out on a date for real." serenity beamed at george's kind words, "i like you too g. and when you ask me out, i am definitely saying yes." george's cheeks flushed with relief, "oh thank god. i thought for a second you were gonna say no." she hugged him tightly, "never george."
mckinley walked over to reece, already knowing what she was going to say to him. "so scout, what do you wanna get for lunch?" reece's face scrunched in confusion before understanding dawned on him. "how about some fish and chips?" he suggested. "what? we're in america you idiot." mckinley replied. "wait what? i thought we were in london. bloody hell, i've blown my cover." kinley made an expression of mock confusion, "are you good scout?" reece narrowed his eyes at her, "well obviously i'm not scout you twat." kinley gave reece a look of fake befuddlement, "i'm confused." reece shook his head with an annoyed look on his face, "i'm. not. scout. my name's reece you wanker."
mckinley started to back away from the boy, "wow, you're not very nice. i'm out." reece grabbed her arm and pulled her close to him. he whispered, "wait, i need more friends," before kissing her. she smiled against reece's mouth and pulled away slowly. "i'm gonna miss you reece," she told him. reece tucked mckinley's hair behind both of her ears and kissed her forehead softly. "i'm gonna miss you too kiki." kinley saw scout waving at her to wrap it up, "i think we have to go reece." she hugged him tightly, "bye." reece hugged her back, "bye kiki darling."
