MCKINLEY FELT GUILTY about keeping her friendship with reece and the boys from daniel. after discussing it heavily with scout, she finally decided to get it over with and tell him. scout had assured her repeatedly that daniel wasn't the kind of guy to get angry over something like this and mckinley prayed she was right.

mckinley's uber pulled up to daniel's apartment complex and she stepped out. she was actually really excited to be back here, considering the fact that she hadn't seen jonah, corbyn, zach, or jack for almost a month and she missed them immensely. the girl took the elevator to her boyfriend's floor and stepped out. she walked over to daniel's apartment and knocked on the door.

almost immediately the door swung open, revealing a tall blond haired boy whom she had missed dearly. "corbyn!" she exclaimed. "mickey, i missed you!" he said pulling the brunette into a hug. after they pulled away, he opened the door further to reveal jonah and daniel sitting on the couch.

"hey guys!" mckinley called. "hey crumpet i didn't know you were coming over," jonah said standing up to greet her. "yeah neither did i," daniel said walking over to his girlfriend to kiss her hello.

the four of them were sat on the couch when mckinley's phone rang. "i'll be right back," she told the boys before walking into the kitchen to take the call. "hey scout what's up?" she greeted her best friend. "have you told him yet?" scout asked. "i was going to, i swear. but corbyn and jonah are here too and now we're all talking." mckinley could hear scout rolling her eyes and then even worse, "well you better tell him quick. check the group chat, the boys are coming to la."

"are you shitting me! no they aren't," mckinley squealed. "yes they are and this means that there is a 99.9% of daniel and reece meeting so you need to tell him!" scout persisted. "okay okay i will, right now," mckinley reassured her friend. she hung up the phone and walked over to where the boys were sitting.

"as much as i would love to keep catching up with you guys, i actually have to talk to daniel about something," mckinley told her friends. corbyn and jonah exchanged curious looks before saying their goodbyes and going back to their respective apartments.

mckinley walked over to where daniel was sat on the couch and sat beside him. "so what do you need to talk to me about?" he asked curiously. mckinley hesitated, she wanted to present this in a way that seemed like it was no big deal so that he wouldn't get mad. she took a deep breath before telling him, "you know that band, new hope club?" he scrunched his eyebrows, racking his brain, "you mean the british one?" when she nodded he responded with, "yeah their stuff is great why?"

"well, to put it simply, i'm actually best friends with them," she said. daniel's eyebrows shot up, "what? how?" mckinley launched into the story of how she mistakenly texted reece and how their friendship has blossomed since then. at the end she asked him, "so are you okay with us being friends?" daniel took a second to absorb all the information that was just thrown at him and then he said, "i mean yeah, i guess. i can't dictate your life mckinley. you choose who you want to be friends with, not me."

mckinley was incredibly happy with his answer but she still asked, "are you sure?" daniel nodded, "of course i just want you to be happy," he pulled her into a hug and she leaned her head on his shoulder, "i would like to meet them though." mckinley smiled, "i think that can be arranged. they're coming to la next week."
