"SCOUT!" BLAKE WHINED, "why won't you tell me where we're going?" scout rolled her eyes playfully as she led blake out of the house. "it wouldn't be a surprise if i told you," she casually threw over her shoulder. blake grumbled slightly at the girl's secrecy and followed her into the car. scout hopped into the driver's side and connected her phone to the bluetooth. she scrolled through her music and played her favorite new hope club song at the moment. blake smiled when he heard his voice pouring through the car's speakers, singing the chorus to perfume. scout began singing the song under her breath as she drove.
twenty minutes later, scout instructed blake to close his eyes as they were getting close to their destination. "are we there yet?" he asked, for the second time in the last two minutes. "almost!" scout replied. she pulled into a parking spot in front of the cafe they were going to. scout exited the car and walked over to the passenger side to lead blake out, his eyes still shut. once they approached the cafe's entrance, scout told blake, "alright, open!" blake opened his eyes and saw a cafe whose sign read "paws and coffee." blake's face morphed into a beaming smile, "you brought me to a puppy cafe?" he asked giddily. the couple entered the cafe and chose a spot by the window to sit. they both ordered iced coffees and, once they received them, went to play with the many dogs in the cafe.
they sipped their coffees and hung out with puppies for hours on end, both having the time of their lives. at five o'clock, they left the cafe and returned to the car. "so, what's next?" scout asked. blake sighed, leaning back in his seat. "i would love to go to a restaurant but i'm exhausted. do you wanna go home?" scout nodded in agreement, "yeah, i can barely keep my eyes open. let's order a pizza and watch a movie for the rest of the night." "that sounds perfect." blake responded. the two drove home, talking about different puppies they played with and sharing funny anecdotes. after they returned home, they ate their pizza and fell asleep on the couch, all wrapped up in each other with a movie playing in the background.
