Flitting blinks. A pulsing headache, like someone was continually hammering a nail into your brain. Blood oozing out of your hand for...some reason. These were the feelings you woke up to. Returning to consciousness was slow, and each second brought some new and intense pain for you to deal with. You were parched, your throat feeling drier than a desert.
Before you could form any words, you croaked weakly, before breaking down into a coughing fit. To your distaste, you coughed up some blood, and shook your head as you tried to refrain from blacking out again. This movement confirmed your suspicions, you were restrained, handcuffs attaching you to a wall just behind your back. At least you had been allowed to sit down, that was some small mercy, but still you could not leave this room.
A brief glance around the room allowed you to remember what had happened; your arrival at Talon's base, Sombra's silence, and finally being whacked over the head roughly. Unable to move, you sat there in that cold metal cell, silently praying that the pain would die down a little. And after a while, the pain did dull, but only because your eyes were closing again. Before you knew it, you had blacked out, despite your best intentions. Though this time, it would not be for long.
You awoke again with a deep breath, this time immediately knowing exactly where you were. Your mouth was still drier than ever, though as it turned out, a remedy to this was quickly on its way. Within mere moments of you opening your eyes, a metal door ahead of you slid open with a cold hiss. A pair of Talon soldiers, dressed in the usual grey and red garb, entered, standing over you silently.
"W-water...please..." you croaked, staring up at them with a pleading face.
You doubted they would pay any attention, but at this point you figured asking couldn't hurt. You were wrong. One of the soldiers nodded to the other, who left the room for a moment. When the second soldier returned, he did so carrying a bucket of water, which he then proceeded to mercilessly throw at you. The water soaked your clothes, causing you to dart forwards before consequently being pulled back by the cuffs. The pain that followed as you hit the wall only served as a source of amusement for the soldiers, who chuckled menacingly.
"Stop it! Leave him alone!" a voice called from the hallway, a voice which carried a familiar exotic accent.
The two soldiers dispersed, revealing Sombra, standing there with a melancholic look on her face. One of the Talon soldiers challenged her, walking right up to her, and standing tall over her.
"You can't order us. The Successor's removed your privileges, remember? You're just lucky you're not in one of these cells as well, if you were...we'd be a lot less restrained" the soldier threatened in an intimidating tone.
Sombra glared up at him, using the hacking tool on her glove to bring up a purple screen that you couldn't quite see.
"Threaten me like that again, and the entire base will anonymously receive your internet history. I took a look myself and...well...you don't want that. Comprendido?" she replied harshly, causing the soldier to back up and gesture to his friend to leave.
Within a few seconds, the two of them had run away down the corridor, leaving you and Sombra alone in the cell.
"Sombra..." you called out weakly, unable to say anymore.
Immediately, the harsh face that she'd worn when facing the soldiers disappeared, replaced by one of genuine concern. She ran up to you and knelt down, placing a hand on your cheek and grimacing.
"Oh Y/N...what have they done to you? Here...take this..." she said, unclipping a small flask of water from her belt and pouring it gently into your mouth.
