"What are you doing here?!" many heroes cried out, tucking their significant others behind them. The crowd erupted, voices raised, curses flew; even Endeavour stood protectively in front of his wife.
"Shut your yaps," Stain ordered, "I'm not here for you but that can change if you're not willing to adapt and overcome." The crowd fell silent, many glaring furiously at the man responsible for dozens of hero's deaths and crippling. Tanith reached up and placed a palm on his shoulder, seemingly keeping in place.
"One: there are literally hundreds of angry parents here, you won't win." Tanith said simply, "Two: don't waste your energy on them. My daughter needs you."
"Tch, I know," Stain turned away from crowed and looked back at Silence and Scarlet Widow. "Greenbrae should be nearby, he always gets first picks—"
"Is this what you meant when you said you weren't a hero?!" someone shouted, "it's because you're a villain?!" Silence took a deep breath and just before everyone could forget their purpose again, she silenced everyone. Leaning against Scarlet Widow, Silence concentrated on keeping everyone silent and still, unable to move as they were forced to listen to Stain.
"According to Jade and Emerald, the ocean hasn't been acting normal. Sea life has been coagulating on a single location, about twelve miles out from here. Even the ocean currents have been circling the location. There is one other problem, larger sea mammals have been making their way here but their moving strangely. The go so far and then they stop moving, jade described it as a strange line being formed from land by the animals."
"Is it possible for someone with an animal-communicating quirk to have tailed them?" Tanith asked
"It's more likely that one of the children has something similar to that kind of quirk," Scarlet Widow replied. "I met a child that day that had a quirk called 'Ani-voice' but the boy appeared to be unable to speak the human tongue."
"We also have another problem," Stain sighed, "Apparently there's too be a storm approaching. It'll hit Japan by morning."
"How bad is bad?" Tanith asked
"Like hurricane level 3 bad," Stain answered.
"how are we supposed to move all these people out to sea? Without any ships at our disposal? They're too far out for any of the vessels that are nearby." Tanith crossed her arms as she spoke, trying to think of away, "is it possible to make a bridge with your quirk?" Tanith asked, turning to scarlet widow.
"And having everyone travel over the raging sea without getting stuck and or drowned by my threads?" Scarlet Widow questioned, "Not likely."
"She also has a limit," Stain replied. "Based on her efforts during the attack, she won't be able to make a bridge long enough, much less wide enough, to reach the fifth mile marker. Never mind the twelfth."
"hmm," Tanith turned towards Scarlet Widow, a suggestion on her lips, when she saw Silencer leaning heavily on their friend. "Silencer! Stop this at once! You'll exhaust yourself! Silencer!" the woman in heals coughed as she slid down to the sand, supported by both Scarlet Widow and Tanith. "You damn little fool, are you trying to comatose yourself again?"
"How are we supposed to get the children off the ship?" Silencer asked, "are we just going to overtake it?"
"No, we don't know if they have it rigged to explode..." Tanith replied, "We'll need those with medical knowledge a certain distance away so they won't get dragged into the fight."
"But at the same time, if the children were harmed, they'll need medical attention." Stain suggested, he crossed his arms and leaned back on one foot, his nails biting into his arm as he frowned thoughtfully. "Those with minor medical knowledge should be on each team, so that any injuries can be reported and those with more advanced skills can be prepped and ready."
"In order for such a thing to happen, then that would mean!" Scarlet Widow cut off herself of as she turned her attention sharply towards Tanith.
"As the only one who can manipulate cellular construction, I suppose that reconstructing medical supplies will fall to me." Tanith sighed, "great, another migraine."
"Scarlet Widow, are you sure Imoto should remain behind?" Stain asked, "My apologies but I don't trust your fellow Heroes, specifically the glory hounds."
"I trust many of them," Scarlet Widow replied sharply. "I know there isn't a single one of them that would hurt Tanith. Some of them might seem like glory hounds to you but they're damn good at their job! They wouldn't risk anyone's life's for something so pitiful as revenge!"
"Are you sure about that?" Stain asked, "I know from experience that vengeance is one hell of a temptation."
"Stain," Tanith called, her voice soft, "If I am to remain behind, then you must save her." Tanith rose to her feet and put both hands on Stain's shoulders. "My daughter won't recognize me in this armor but she will recognize you. she'll be panicked and afraid, she'll lash out and properly hurt you and maybe even herself."
"So, prepare to meet nine-year-old you?" Stain asked with a smirk, "Shouldn't be too hard."
"Remember Izumi doesn't have a quirk, at least not right now." Tanith let go Stain and looked out at the ocean, "She'll awaken her powers soon, its best to have an elder Cyan there with her for it. She won't be able to handle the stress of awakening by herself. Please focus on finding Izumi, the children on that ship will be in danger if you don't."
"Alright, I understand." Stain was frowning but he was nodding.
"One other thing Stain," Scarlet Widow pipped up, "if Cyan's are as rare as the transmissions were saying, they'll have Izumi separated from everyone else. Either she'll be on the highest deck or the lowest in lock down."
"But they'll also keep a heavy guard on her," Tanith countered, "So were the guards are thickest is where she'll most likely be."
"Or maybe she'll be with the ring leaders," Stain suggested. "That's what I would do if I were them."
"Yeah, good point," Tanith agreed quickly. "but I'm still worried about how we're supposed to transport everyone twelve miles out from here and with a storm approaching."
"Rei!" the booming cry echoed like an explosion in everyone's ears
"Oh heaven," Silencer cringed, her hands wrapping around her ears. Scarlet Widow shook her head while Stain braced Tanith before she could collapse herself. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow," Silencer whimpered, dropping her quirk as quickly as possible to keep the echoing from rolling through her brain.
"Don't do that again," Tanith ordered, pointing at Silencer.
"Yup, nope, not doing it again," Silencer whimpered.
