Four days after the attack

Katsuki and Izuku remained in the Bakugo family house for the rest of the month, their only explanation was that school was cancelled and everyone was on vacation. Izuku's mother and sister were in the hospital because they got hurt in the attack, they repeatedly reminded that both were okay and were only recovering now. Then one day Mitsuki came back from the hospital, eyes red and face blotchy, and told them that Izumi wouldn't be coming home. Katsuki knew he wasn't supposed to hear what his parents were talking about, he was supposed to be upstairs with Izuku, playing with their toys. But the sight of his mother coming home filled him hope, he wanted to know about what news she had about his friend.

"They can't even find her birth records!" Mitsuki cried out, her voice cracking like glass, her body shaking so hard his father could barely keep a hold on her. "And that villain! That Villain whipped Inko's memory! She-she!!" Mitsuki couldn't finish her sentence, she erupted into hysteria, unable to speak another word. He couldn't understand it, how could a mother forget her daughter? How could any parent forget about their child? No matter what he did his parents were always there for him, his father the soft-voice of rationality and his mother the explosive-wrath of law. He wouldn't know what to do without either of them, how much more lost would Izumi be? She had her mother and her brother and sometimes it was as if Izuku was her emotional-guild-line; she flat out copied him in modes of distress.

"Kaachan?" Izuku's voice was soft and hesitant, one hand rubbing at his face as if he were sleepy but they had only just woken up an hour ago, Izuku shouldn't be sleepy. Katsuki stared at his friend, wondering if he heard the news, but quickly became distracted with the strange assortment of bruises on his arms legs.

"When did those get there?" Katsuki asked, hurrying over to examine his friend's arms carefully.

"Hmm? Oh," Izuku yawned and tugged his sleeves back down again.

"how long have you had those?" Katsuki asked, just as sternly as his mother sometimes spoke

"I didn't want Kaachan to worry," Izuku mumbled, "I found them three days ago."

"You've had them two days and didn't tell me?" Katsuki asked

"yeah," Izuku yawned again, "Is it nap time yet?"

"We just woke up," Katsuki frowned at him, "nap time is over..." Katsuki trailed off as he stared at his friend, there were thick dark lines under Izuku's eyes; lines that hadn't been there when he left him in the room a few minutes ago.

"I'm sleepy," Izuku whined and Katsuki realized something in that moment, Izuku had been sleeping a lot in the past few days; sometimes he wouldn't wake up until the sun had set again and even then that was to use the bathroom.

"...Izuku you have to eat," Katsuki frowned at him, "you slept through breakfast and lunch and—"

"Katsu-baby?" he looked up to see his mother, still red eyed and puffy-faced, "Izu-honey... I thought you would be sleeping..." she trailed off, more tears spilled from her eyes as she stared at Izuku. Then she collapsed, suddenly sobbing loudly as she ripped both boys into her arms, crushing them in her strong embrace. Then his father was there, holding them gently and whispering apologies to them.

"mama," Katsuki called, pulling at her shirt to get her attention, "where... where's Izumi?" it was as if she dreaded that question, her whole face scrunched in on itself, tears and snot suddenly mixing together; she looked a lot like some of the kids at pre-school when they scrapped their knees. He's never seen his mother cry, never, and it made Katsuki feel afraid because he didn't even know his mother could cry.

"She's gone baby," Mitsuki whimpered, "Izumi-chan... she didn't make it..."

"I don't understand," Izuku yawned again, one bruised hand covering his mouth before rubbing at his eye sleepily. "what Imoto miss?"

"Izuku-kun what is this?" Masaru asked as he gently grabbed Izuku's hand tugged his sleeve down.

"Izuku when did you get these?" Mitsuki asked, her eyes wide and her mouth trembling

"'Bout two," Izuku stopped to yawn, revealing a splotchy tongue.

"Car, now," Masaru ordered, jumping to his feet and ran off to the living room.

"Baby seets still in the car?" Mitsuki asked as she lifted both boys into her arms and started fast-walking to the front door.

"Yup, have you seen my wallet?"

"Brown jacket!" Mitsuki called over her shoulder, Katsuki leaned forward and opened the door for her, knowing she couldn't do it on her own. "Thank you Katsu-baby," Mitsuki smiled at him as used her foot to open the door, when she leaned back he leaned into her and was rewarded with a kiss to the forehead. There were three people on the other side of their front yard fence, each dressed in clean black-suits.

"Ah Mrs. Bakugo!" The woman in the team smiled, lifting the lock on the door of the gate.

"Whatever you're selling, no, I'm in a rush!" Mitsuki barked as she ran towards her vehicle.

"Ah, but Mrs!"

"Honey! Who are they?" Masaru asked as he locked the door and fast-walked towards his car

"Sale's people," Mitsuki answered as she stopped next to the car, Katsuki scrambled down, opened the side door and hurried inside. "Katsuki-honey, you're so smart."

"Of course I am!" Katsuki grinned as he took his seat, leaving the other seat closest to his mother for Izuku. As he sat down and grabbed his buckles, he watched as one of the people approached his mother. Then his door was opening and a hand was reaching for him, he automatically reached for the hand and his quirk did the rest. He heard his father shout, heard his mother grunt under the attack but what he saw was a beautiful display of orange and yellow. The man reaching for him screamed, pulling back his burnt and bloody hand. Katsuki looked for his mother, the one attacking her was on the ground, his mother standing above him and kicking his arm hard enough to snap it.
