Moving On

Six months after the kidnapping the ocean side of Tokyo was suddenly flooded with all kinds of wales, from killer whales to orcas, to sperm wales, and some even larger ones that no one knew the names of. No one knew why there were suddenly beaching themselves, their bodies appeared unharmed both internal and outwardly, all they knew was that they were dead by morning. An investigation was sent forth but ultimately the truth would never be found, not in time at least. The docs of Tokyo became restricted, many protocols were set forth to doc and remain overnight; the excuse that it had become a hotspot for villains was accepted too easily. The district of Takumi Memorial Ocean Museum however was a different matter entirely. Many parents couldn't handle the children crying out in their sleep, screaming for a child who was never found and in the case of many parents, never existed.

The place where Tanith's cocoon sat served as city center for many people and many heroes took advantage of the threads still supporting it. Many families, however, took comfort in the once destroyed sector and moved their children form their original homes to apartments in the waterfront city. It became a silent acknowledgement that the 'memorial children' had bond that was undisturbed by distance. Whenever one was hurt, the others would know, like a sixth sense that forewarned them of approaching danger. They all converged on the source of pain, acting like white-blood cells to a scraped knee. When the children where together, it was as if they forgot what had happened to them, they were all safe and sound; no more screams of terror in the night. Many parents couldn't understand it and many more just accepted that what happened would continue to haunt them all. The only thing they could do was pray it didn't leave any scars but that was a foolish thought because all the children had a marking. The marking on their shoulder, a strange symbol that tied them all together, seemed to communicate them like an integrate spiderweb. All 'Memorial children' knew each other upon first look, more specifically they each knew each other's names upon looking at their faces, and often took comfort in each other.

Those who had been hospitalized during the attack or in the rescue attempt were released, most at least. The Todoroki family were walking on shaky legs, with Enji not knowing anything about his children or his wife, he decided that taking time off work would best for the time being. It was still strange to him to have children calling him 'father', even stranger was the sight of the youngest one always looking at him in anger or flinching away in fear. He had no previous memories of his wife or children, the last thing he remembered was finally achieving his number two hero status; that had happened nearly one year before his marriage. He had forgotten the past seventeen-years and as he listened to the stories of his children and wife, he wondered what kind of father he was to make them so nervous and frightful in his presence. The news got worse as he listened to the children's story telling, during the attack Fuyumi's sight had been heavily damaged, she would never see as clearly as did before the attack. As it was, Fuyumi would be lucky if she still retained sight in her forties. All the doctors could do was to prescribe her special lenses and eye-droops to help her vision but there was no promise of her ever retaining her vision after she reached her thirties.

Inko left the hospital with Izuku in her arms, the Bakugo family left the same as well but they were not going in the direction as they normally would have. The Bakugo family were going to be escorted to their new home, closer to the hero agencies with a direct rout to a nearby elementary and all boy middle school. Katsuki and Izuku would continue to grow up together, there was one park between their homes that they could both meet at and play in. They weren't disappearing from the other's lives entirely, they just had to put more effort into seeing each other, that's all. There were many heroes who wandered the streets, many more did rounds around schools, a few agencies even set up guards for the children to be escorted to and from school. The parents only needed to meet with hero at the scheduled time for the pickup and drop off. If the parent in question can't make it, more often then not the hero will escort the child home themselves. The system worked, for many years, there no more kidnappings or child-attacks to be reported; child-crime was dropped three-fourths of what it was in all previous years or recordings. The only child-crime viewed as an exception were bullies. Bullies found ingenious ways to get what they wanted. Bakugo Katsuki was soon one of them.

He and Izuku were once very close friends but somewhere along the line, just after their life had began to settle down again, they ceased being friends. To Katsuki it became apparent that Izuku had forgotten about his baby sister, he stopped talking about his twin all together and began adamantly denying her existence. Katsuki couldn't understand why Izuku would do such a thing and began to act rashly. More often the not, Heroes watched as Katsuki would chase Izuku through the children's park. A glance would make anyone assume the two boys were just playing, as children their age often did. But anyone who knew the two boys on a personal level, knew better. Katsuki was angry Izuku forgot about his sister and was convinced that beating the green haired boy was the best way to make him remember her existence.

Before anyone knew it, a year had passed

Then three years passed

Then seven years passed

Suddenly Katsuki and Izuku were entering middle school without Izumi

And August twenty-fifth was forgotten... for the exception of those directly influenced by the date
