Before the Storm

"Don't do that again," Tanith ordered, pointing at Silencer.

"Yup, nope, not doing it again," Silencer whimpered. Stain braced Tanith as they both moved to look were Endeavour was charging. Near the ocean side Rei was walking ever closer to the ocean, when the sea-water touched her feet it exploded into a great icy sheet. With a diameter of nearly seventy feet, Rei continued walking until her ice-sheet was reaching out past even the wooden pier nearby. She stopped, several dozen feet out over the waves, and looked back at the crowd who neared her icy-bridge.

"Husband! Extinguish your flames!" Rei ordered, "if you don't the bridge will melt and our hope will fall through."

"Are you insane?!" Endeavour raged, "You have a limit! You won't be able to make it to twelve miles!"

"I don't have too!" Rei pointed out at sea, "There's an animal-manipulator amongst the children! They are the ones responsible for making the animals give us a path!" Endeavour had no time to disagree before several wales breached the ocean surface, giving loud cries as they splashed back down. "The children are leading us to them! We can only follow the crumbs they left behind!" snarling and cursing, Endeavour exploded into a huge inferno before dismissing his flames entirely.

"The first sign of danger and you're retreating with the other mothers!" Endeavour ordered as he charged onto the ice, he stopped beside his wife, "Well?! Get your asses in gear!" he ordered loudly, glaring out over his shoulder at the others. Rei spun around and started running, Endeavour close at her side.

"I only have to make the ice bridge out to four miles," Rei said as she raced ahead, her ice taking on a smooth foundation with every step before herself. "From there, the Sea-Creatures will guild us!" true to Rei's assumption, four miles out to sea and the animals had began their path to the ship, heroes immediately paired up and began traveling as quickly as they could together. The wales, sharks and terrifyingly enough a jelly-fish, all supported each hero who traveled across their heads and backs. It was amazing, the wales were without doubt the most in number but the sharks seemed to moving towards the ship with the heroes; as if they planned to attack beside the human populace. When they arrived at the ship's destination, they discovered that the animals had already began attacking. A great octopus was sitting on the bow of the ship, wailing in pain as it thrashed its tentacles apart, very nearly tipping the entire ship over into the sea.

"Antarctica," Rei gaged as the back of her shirt was grabbed and her feet went out from beneath herself, she turned to see Tanith standing behind her. "We need you to create a ship for the children. Do you have the strength?"

"It'll be a giant piece of ice but yes," Rei rubbed at her throat where her shirt had bruised her neck. "And my name is Rei, Rei Todoroki."

"Hmm, and?" Tanith swept an arm out to the left, ignoring the groups of dressed up heroes who continued to charge ahead. Sighing Rei turned away, not seeing Endeavour's glare at Tanith, and started producing ice thick enough to carrying the hundreds of people it would need to. Several people with heat-quirks quickly jumped on and started shaping the ice she was producing, several others with water-quirks started doing the same and she froze the water in the shapes and twists the manipulators set up. Before long an iceberg just as big as the ship was created, with walls that towered high into the air; and the inside a multilayered tear with dozens of wholes catered to cradling individuals. It was a strange iceberg-ship but it would be incredibly beneficial to their mission. As the iceberg was being shipped, Rei and her guard Tanith had no idea how the rescue op was doing. It would not be until the giant octopus was forced off the ship that they realized the success of the mission. All Might removed the octopus and with the aid of dozens of people he retreated whole cages, rooms, boxes of children from the ship. Even Endeavour appeared before Rei with their children, his flames extinguished and barely controlled tremors shaking his body. Fuyumi was beaten badly, almost beyond recognition; it was only her distinctive red stripes in her white hair that identified her to her parents. Rei didn't even get the chance to touch Fuyumi, Shoto had immediately been ripped out of Endeavour's arms and thrown at her. Meanwhile Fuyumi began floating in the air, Tanith's large claws hovering in the air on either side of Fuyumi's face. It was only due to Tanith's shaking body that prevented either parent from reacting to Tanith's sudden movement. They watched, holding their breath, as the air around Fuyumi began to shimmer, like heat-waves on a hot day, and her bruising began to lesson.

"Sister," Shoto murmured, watching as Fuyumi's swelling slowly ebbed away and the cuts on her face and limbs slowly sealed away. Just as the young eight-year old opened her teal eyes, Tanith coughed and collapsed, her hold on the young child forgotten as she crumbled into the ice. Endeavour quickly caught his daughter and cradled her close to Rei as they both double checked the girl's physical body.

"Thank you Mrs," Rei cut herself off as she stared at Tanith, her mask parted so she could cough and hack, dry heaving into a cracked dent with small splatters of blood. A lock of green hair fumbled out of her mask, sticking to the woman's tanned human face; suddenly Endeavour understood what it all meant for Tanith. According to 'transmissions', 'Cyan's' were rare and highly sought after by someone named 'Greenbrae'. Now that he thought of it, it was Tanith who supplied the name when 'Silence' couldn't quite recall it. Did their children get caught up in Tanith's and Greenbrae war?

"Who are you?" Endeavour asked, none to gently, "Who is Greenbrae to you?"
