"He's not waking up," Four-arms's voice cracked as he looked up at the child. The child teetered from side to side, as if struggling to remain standing, then they turned towards lizard-man. "Hey kid, my brother—"

"is breathing and steady heartbeat," the child twisted to face lizard-man fully, their torn up bunny-doll floating through the air to sit in a mirrored reflection of Bull-head. "He no bleed out now. He safe?"

"He'll need a professional doctor to guarantee that," Best Jeanist replied calmly. "What about this man? can you save him?"

"He not hurt badly," the child seemed to pout, "all blood still good, no poison in this one."

"poison?" four-arms questioned

"that one had bad stuff in blood, it was making insides all icky," the child explained, then sneezed as if to make a point. Four-arms looked at his brother, then at the black dust surrounding his brother's unconscious body. "this one has good blood." They bobbed their head, wild dark locks flying about, then yawned and rubbed at their face as if they were tiered.

"Are you sleepy?' Jojo asked, frowning in concern

"No," the child sounded insulted with the question, "not tiered!"

"Can you heal him Amaru?' four-arms asked softly, "Do you have the strength??"

"Brother says I'm very strong," four-arms smiled and chuckled with the proud declaration, too him it was normal to be proud of a sibling's praise.

"you have a brother?" Jojo asked

"uh-huh," the child nodded slowly. "He hide me and lead bad people away."

"how do you know they were bad people?" Best Jeanist asked

"Because big brother saved me from glass-bottle," the child answered with a long yawn. "big brother hide me so he could fight bad people but he didn't come back."

"Are you sure you're not sleepy?" Jojo asked

"I'm not sleepy!" the child huffed loudly.

"Please save my friend," Four-arms requested politely, distracting the child quickly with the need to heal someone else.

"If the child is tiered, the possibility of mistakes being made increase dramatically," Best Jeanist warned, though it was an empty reminder as his thoughts did wander elsewhere.

"Perhaps but he is the brains behind the operation," Four-arms shrugged as if he didn't care either way. "We all have our prices to pay, he's no different." Again the child set out their hands towards the two-pieces of the rabbit's body and concentrated on repairing the damage to the lizard-man's limbs. As compared to bull-head, lizard-man only took up fifteen-minutes; ending when the child collapsed against the floor.

"Ooowwww," the pained groan came from lizard-man, his face scrunched before his eyes squinted up at the ceiling. "What happened?"

"Amaru," Four-arms called, drawing the man's attention towards himself. "how do you feel?"

"Like I broke every bone in my body," lizard-man groaned, "what happened?"

"The kid saved your life," four-arms informed him dully. "you should thank them when they wake." The lizard-man had no time to say anything before a team of medics were surrounding him, another team approached four-arms and he gladly handed his brother over to them.

"I'll go make sure the other's don't cause trouble," Four-arms said as he stood up and allowed himself to be hand-cuffed.

"Thank you for your cooperation," the officer replied, gently tugging at him along. Best Jeanist moved over to his friend Jojo, the child in his arms.

"Now what?" Jojo asked, "how do we explain the kid?"

"We don't," Best Jeanist adjusted his hold on the child. "I want to keep her out of the spotlight. She said her brother saved her from bad people. The last thing we want is for those 'bad people' to find her again."

"Eh, old lies can be fished out," Jojo said as he leaned back and rubbed at his face. "if the boy is around, he'll be concerned about her injured state."

"Jojo," Best Jeanist called softly. "How long has this kid been in this building stealing food from you?"

"from what the thieves said, I'd guess about a month at least, maybe two." Jojo answered

"When did you first notice your food disappearing?"

"Not quite three months ago," Jojo shrugged as if it didn't matter, Best Jeanist stared at his friend for a long time. "oh no," Jojo's eyes widened and he took in a deep breath. "that kid, you think—"

"got any other explanation for why he never came back for her?" Best Jeanist sighed heavily, "The brother is properly already dead."

"then that goes any possibility of a relative taking her in." Jojo rubbed at his face with growing exhaustion.

"I don't think she has any relatives," Best Jeanist murmured. "Remember what they said? Their brother saved them from a glass-bottle." Jojo groaned loudly, slumping over in his seat as a thousand thoughts ran through his mind. "I need you to distract any news crews out there. If the villains who were raising her found out she's still alive, then they'd come back for her. It's possible they might kill her before she becomes too strong for them to control."

"Then we'll just claim they're a kid caught in the crossfire," Best Jeanist and Jojo looked up to see an officer smiling at them as he approached. "One floor down is a kid's play-pin after all. Perhaps one of the children got hurt during the fight."

"...for a cop, you're scary," Jojo commented, the officer just shrugged carelessly.

"I've seen worse things then what happened here," the cop replied, "I worked the Memorial Children Case."

"I heard that was a bad one," Best Jeanist cringed in sympathy, "I was in America for training, so I didn't participate."

"You're lucky," the cop replied, "A lot of heroes hung up their capes because of that incident. Even more either lost their lives or lost their physical ability to be a hero." He waved a hand as he moved to walk away from them, "hard to be a hero when you only have one hand."

"hard to be a lot of things when you have only one hand," Jojo retorted as the cop walked away. "Damn, I didn't know people were losing limbs in that fight. I heard our hero force got knocked down but not by death tole or amputation tole."

"I knew it was bad but I didn't think we lost that many heroes in the fight," Best Jeanist sighed. "perhaps teacher was right, I should've come home last year."

"Hey Gene, what's done is done. Nothing we can do about it now." Jojo slapped his good knee and forced himself up onto his feet again. "Well, I'm off to tell some more old lies. Count my lucky stars for me will ya?"

"Break a leg,"

"Please don't jinx me, I only got the one now!"
