[ HUNTER ]
The next few days in the Harrison household were tense.
Blake and Cody weren't speaking to each other, and they couldn't even be in the same room without one of them nearly ripping the other's head off.
Everybody was literally walking on eggshells, especially around Cody. He was so fragile; he looked like he'd explode at any moment.
None of us knew what to do. Blake, stubborn as he was, wouldn't listen to what anybody had to say. He was being an asshole for no reason.
It was mid-afternoon on the fourth day of the twins not speaking when I went to check on Cody. I had tried to talk to Blake numerous times, but he refused all my offers and I was tired of being nice.
I knocked on Cody's door, and after a few minutes he opened it. His eyes were red and puffy, and I frowned. "Oh honey,"
I opened my arms and he practically fell into them and just cried. I shuffled us into his room and closed the door, then let him lean on me and cry on his bedroom floor.
"H-He made it all about himself!" He was able to get out. "The whole d-damn time, it was "what about me" this, "me, me, me" that, "you never thought about how I'd feel" there. I'm fucking sick of that shit. Like use your head and realize that this isn't about you for once in your damn life!"
He punched his door and screamed. I shushed him and pulled him into me, trying to calm him down. Cody gripped my shirt and was heaving sobs. My heart ached for him.
He turned to me. "Our whole lives, it's always been "Blake Harrison and his twin," never "Blake and Cody Harrison." I've always been left in the shadows; have never had a moment to myself. It's always been about him."
"It's okay, it's all right." I kept repeating. I just didn't know what to say. Obviously it wasn't okay. He was hurting. Blake was his best friend, and not knowing if he accepted him was hard. Especially since Blake made the whole conversation about himself. I understood why Cody was so distraught.
After another fifteen minutes, Cody sat up and wiped his face. I rubbed his back and let him calm down. Following another ten minutes of silence, he looked at me and smiled wearily. "I'm sorry you had to see me like that."
"You don't have to be sorry, honey." I moved some hair away from his eyes. "You have every right to be upset. I'd be upset, too."
He shook his head. "I just don't know what to do."
"Give it time." I sighed. "I know it's a pretty generic answer but it's the only advice I can give you right now. Both of you need to calm down before another conversation can be had."
Cody nodded. "Yeah, I guess. Thank you for, you know, handling me and all."
"Of course. I just wanted to come check on you and I'm glad I did." I patted his arm. He took my hand and kissed it, and I smiled.
We were in the middle of making small talk when we heard a blood curling scream that startled us both. We watched each other with wide eyes, listening carefully. Another one came and we scrambled to our feet, bursting out of his room and trying to figure out where the screaming had come from.
Trent, Reece, and Luca had ran upstairs from hearing the scream. A third one followed and the five of us ran to Jack's room where it was coming from. I was the first one to get in and gasped at the sight, tears immediately flooding my eyes. My hands flew over my mouth and I backed up so far I bumped into Trent. The four brothers gasped when they saw what I saw, and we all froze.
