Your Song

I woke up a few hours later and I say myself up in my bed. Katy was positioned in the chair next to my bed. She looked like she had been crying.

"Hey. Where's Derek?"

"I made him leave and have fun with Ryan." she smiled. "You can go home in a week or more."

"So I heard." I laughed. "Hey will you do me a favor?"

"Anything for you, Val."

"Would you get me a notebook and a pen. I want to write some things down. Just in case something happens."

"Val, nothing's going to happen to-"

"I just want to be prepared. Ad if anything does happen, I want you to give it to Derek." I interrupt her. "Please."

"Okay, but nothing's going to happen to you."

Katy got me a small hardback notebook and within a few hours I had written everything I had ever wanted to say. I felt good about it. If something were to happen to me, this would give Derek some sort of closure, I hope.

Derek came back into the room with his guitar in his hands. I have him a strange look.

"I wrote a song for you." He smiled.

"Why did you do that?"

"Because it's Your Song." He challenged.

He sat down and started to strum.

"That was beautiful." I say wiping the tears away the tears that were forming.

"Thanks." he kisses me deeply. "You're beautiful."

I blush and I pull away. I stare into his beautiful eyes. And I fidget with my wedding ring.

"I love you." I blurt.

"I love you too."

"I hope I can go home soon."

"I hope so too. They said in about a week or so, depending on how your heart adjusts."

"I know."

Yeah, this chapter is kind of boring and I'm sorry for that. I'm hoping that the next chapter will be better.
