Jin

Jin tried to concentrate on work as they went into a new scene. Murder of a woman and her husband. Suspected break in.

Forensics were taking pictures of the bodies in all angles and Jin wrote on his notepad on all of the details given by some of the neighbors nearby. Hoseok had to step out, not being able to look at the sight.

It was gruesome, even more gruesome than the other cases we've seen. But there was something strange about this one, this one had a drawing on the wall from the blood of one of the victims. It was a V with a line across it.

What a strange symbol to leave at a crime scene. Is it a group? Or maybe a cult?

Those thoughts flooded Jin's mind at first.

The other police officers suspected only one person, but from how the place was looked through and messed with, Jin had a hunch that it was two people.

The place was too messy for only one person to go through. It would've taken them an hour at most to look through the couples personal belongings, so two to three people would do the job.

"Detective Jung," Jin turned to see the nauseous Detective, bending over to the side, gagging.

"You can step out of you want." He laughed silently at the man. Detective Jung raised a hand to signify 'hold on' and Jin was sure that he was trying to calm himself down.

How did he pass the academy when he has a fear of blood?

There was a tap on Jin's shoulder, he turned around seeing a familiar uniformed officer.
"Officer Yeonjun."

"Good morning Detective!" He exclaimed, in his hands were files, most probably from witness testimonies.

"You're chipper this morning."

"Well, it's my first time working with you on a case Detective! So I'm really excited!" He gave Jin a wide smile, his eyes reminded Jin so much of Namjoon.

So much ambition and so much creativity locked within a pure soul. A pure soul that was tainted by blood.

"Detective Kim?" Yeonjun waved a hand in front of Jin's face. He snapped out of his trance and looked at Yeonjun.

"My apologies, I was lost in thought."
He adjusted his jacket and straightened his posture.

"What were the witnesses saying about the killing? Any specific testimonies we should keep note of?"

Yeonjun flipped through the folder. "Mainly all they heard were screams, none of them wanted to go and check, because the couple was particularly interested in arguing with one another. They all thought that they were just fighting with one another again."

"So, these two had a bad relationship?"

"I guess so Detective. That's what the other say."

"And the murder?"

"They didn't see anyone enter, nor leave the building. The CCTV here are a bit old." Jin ruffled his hand through his hair, frustrated.

"Alright, look around Officer Yeonjun. Thank you for that."

Yeonjun bowed in front of Seokjin. "No problem Detective!"  He left the Detective alone with his thoughts

"So? Anything?" Jin turned around to look at Hoseok, his face still drained and he looked shaken.

"No, the couple here would always argue with one another. They all probably think they killed each other, which Is a stupid assumption."

"CCTV?"

"Dead lead, it's broken and dated."
Hoseok groans.

"First the Kitty Gang, now this?" Jin nods. "We just have to keep looking. Was there any sign of a break in?" Hoseok shrugged.

"They windows were latched when we arrived. No way somebody left through the window and locked it themselves. Maybe the couple did fight with one another?" Hoseok said but Jin has other plans.

"No, wait. Are there vents here?"

"Vents?"

"Regarding the couples status, they'd have no correlation to the murder, so, I have a suspicion to believe that t wasn't an act of passion. More so an act of simply killing. If they weren't seen in the scene of the crime, they maybe used the vents to go through, and picked the first one they saw."

Hoseok's mouth was agape. Detective Kim really was the best Detective around.

"Look around for any vents big enough to fit one to two people."

Hoseok nodded and went to another group of officers to look around. Jin put his hands inside his pockets, looking intently at the ceiling, looking for any crack or any openings available to access.

"Detective Kim!" Hoseok suddenly shouted after Jin. He turned around and Hoseok had a wide smile on his face.

"There was a vent! A vent through their closet!"

"Well I'll be damned, I was right." Jin smiled and walked to their bedroom. Sure enough there was a ventilation on the far back of the closet. It was wide enough for maybe a teen to go through. Jin's shoulders were too wide to fit, but to test his theory, he called for Yeonjun to go through. The diameter of his shoulders and stature was enough for an example.

He fit. He fucking fit.

"We're looking for one or two people. Male, 5'9-5'12 maybe. Let's look for any hairs or any evidence left behind. Good job gentlemen."

Jin walked out of the crime scene with Hoseok railing behind him.

"That-That was amazing Jin-Hyung!"

Jin shrugged his shoulders. "It was more on intuition Hoseok, we all need to know every possibility and every chance that the criminal could do in every crime scene we come across."

'Now I know why Namjoon loves you so much...' Hoseok said to himself, averting his eyes from Jin. He was smart, beautiful and successful in his job. What was Hoseok compared to Jin? An ex-assassin and ex-lover of a mafia boss, that's what he is.

He didn't have a beautiful body or stature like Jin, nor full plump lips or eyes shaped like almonds. He wasn't Jin. He was just Hoseok.

"Hoseok, let's go back to the station, I need to fill in my report." Jin walked towards his car with Hoseok following him.

"Sure Hyung, I'll go ahead and eat lunch when we get there, and get started with my report when I get back."

Jin nods.
"Here I'll drop you off at a restaurant."

"Thanks Hyung."

Deep down, Hoseok felt guilty that he thought so I'll of Jin, but his heart was aching so much that he wanted it to stop.
