14- Dark Past

-Finally!

-What is going on here? - Steve said looking around his girlfriend's house - this place is a mess

-I know, that is why I called you here, I've been cleaning since the time came home

-Oh gosh, that is a lot of time

-I know, I need help to finish

-Fine, I will help

There they were, the couple's cleaning.

They were almost done, it was now 4am and the only thing left to do was to put away some clothes. Steve got to do that, but let's be honest, he had barely been inside her house, so he got lost. That was the start of a disaster.

-What the hell?! - Steve said as he opened a room door, revealing something he never suspected from Vanessa. When he was about to call for her she came to him

-Babe, why is it taking too long for you to.. oh crap - she was running up the stairs and brutally stopped when she saw in front of what Steve was standing

-Care to explain?- He did not look at her, he couldn't take his eyes off that scene.

Chin's POV

I was woken up by my phone ringing, it was 7am. I answered the phone and, surprise! A case.

-Babe, I gotta go, we got a new case

-Okay love, call me when at lunch time so we can go out and eat - Amanda said rolling on the bed and kissing her husband

-I will, bye - he left

While Chin was driving to the HQ he got in contact with all of the team but Steve. The boss was too occupied with Vanessa that morning, but no one knew.

-Was anyone able to contact Steve? - Chin asked coming through the glass doors

-No - they all said together

-Well, something happened then, I will go look for him, you guys keep working on the case

-Okay, call us if you find what happened ok?

-I will - he then left to his car and drove to the hospital first, maybe Steve was there with Danny, but no luck there. So he drove to McGarrett's house, nothing there either, the house was calm with no signs of a break or fight, it seemed normal. That was the time he started to worry, he continued to call his friend, but he didn't answer. He didn't want to tell his wife her brother was missing with no evidence to be found. He drove to Vanessa's house. When he got there, the only thing he could hear was the barks from her dog, she didn't seem to be home, he knocked, called her and then Steve opened the door.

-What Happened? We are calling you like crazy

-Uhm, nothing, my phone is inside the car, is everything ok? - he replied looking at his partner

-Yeah, all fine, we just got a case this morning, are you coming?

-No, I can't, not today, I promised her I would stay and help her organize some stuff around here. If something major happens you call me and I will go, keep me posted on the case

-okay, good luck man - he laughed and put his hand on his brother in law's shoulder

-Thanks - Steve replied laughing and when Chin was inside his car he closed the door and went back to Vanessa issue.

Vanessa's POV

-Is he gone? - she asked cornered in her room

-yes, he is, so where were we? - he asked sitting in front of me and brushing my hair

We had been talking for three hours, my dark past came up. The truth had been revealed.

Chin got to the HQ to drop the news that Steve was not gonna join them

-he literally is a changed man - Danny said shaking his head

-that's called love. And also she is kinda bossy so I get him, my queen is like that. You do not upset her, if you promised, you had promised boy. - Lou said making all of them laugh

-now, let's get to the case already,cuz I have a McGarrett at home waiting for me to go out and have lunch

The hours had passed, Vanessa and Steve were now cuddling on the couch, the Five-0 team was going their seperate ways to lunch and just enjoy the rest of the day. After all, this case was easy and quick, so they should celebrate that.

-Babe, your brother is wrapped up on Vanessa's fingers, totally in love
-I know that. He has always loved her, and right now having this second chance? He will not take it for granted - Amanda said having a bite of her steak

Tani was home with her brother after days without seeing him and that had no price. Lou was enjoying his time with his kids and his wife. The family had been through a lot lately, so any minute count for them.
Danny, on the other hand was on the sky. No he was not flying, he was just secretly having the time of his life with his favorite British girl.
