29- Watch your words

Vanessa's POV

It has been a couple of weeks since my re-promotion and they were chaotic to say at least. Today, I was flying to another island for some meeting as the representer of the Fenix Foundation. So, I woke up early in the morning, took a shower, changed my clothes into airplane appropriate outfit and head to my Light blue Range Rover.

When I was driving to the airport something caught my attention, and that was what I believe to be Steve's truck ahead of me on the road. So, I decided to call him and check if it was really him, cuz I mean there weren't many metallic red trucks on the island, but I couldn't get a hold of the plate to be sure it was him, and if it was it meant something happened, and it basically could be at the airport.

-Tell me is that you in the 72 highway - I said when he picked up his phone

-That would be me, why? - I could sense him looking in his cat mirrors to check that I was behind his car

-Nothing, just making sure. But,tell me, is there something I should worry about?

-Ehr.. maybe

-Steve - I said Ina warning tone

-okay, okay, we need to close the airport down

-I mean, I kind of need to fly today you know

- I know, but I don't think you will

-Ugh, I will see you at the airport then and we can talk about this so I can explain to the people I am supposed to meet up today

-okay, bye - he hung up and I sped up my car so I could be right after him

When I parked the car at the airport, Steve and his team were all geared up and ready to fight a war

-Oh, hold up, what's going on here? It's not even 7 in the morning - I said getting scared about the way they looked

-National security matter - Tani spoke up

-So I guess I should cancel my meetings right?

-That would be necessary babe - Steve said coming from behind and giving me a kiss on the cheek

-Fine, I will do it then - I turned around to kiss his lips and walked away to call them.

When I came back, the cops pulled me away from the scene and told me to stay safe inside the sort of panic room at the airport where they put important people in case something like this happens.

Not gonna lie, I was scared about this whole thing, but I knew that as far as I was with Steve, I would be okay, so I just sat there and waited, since I couldn't get out of the airport anyways.

To my surprise, half an hour later,Danny opened the door and called me.

-Vanessa, come with me please - he said to me and guided me out

-What is this about?

-We need a doctor at the landing

-Is it one of you guys?

-No, it's the President

-Oh my gosh - I said when I saw how the President was

-Yeah, we know, it's bad. You can fix it right? - one of the Presidential guards asked me

-I will try my best - I said kneeling down at him and examining the situation

-I thought you guys said she was the best - the other guard said almost whispering with a bored face

-I'm the best but I am not Jesus, so if you want me to save him you shut the hell up and do your job (- that you are not so good at- i said this part more for me than him) and let me do mine.

-with that attitude you can lose your license doc - he continued

-I might, but right now I am the one cleaning up your mess, so… - I smirked at him and continued to save the President's life.

-I don't know what's up with guys these days Lou, they think they can say anything to anyone just because they have big muscles - Danny said while laughing

-Yeah man.. and you - Lou pointed to the guard that pissed me off - I would be careful if I were you

-Why? - he asked with a face that said "I fear nothing"

-Doctor Croft over there is the Commander's girl, and I personally don't think he will be happy when he learns about what you did

The guard immediately went pale. He knew Steve's way of handling things, he saw how he basically saved the day right now and he also knows how Steve is interrogating the terrorists right now. And by interrogating I mean torturing basically.

-I heard my name - Steve came the exact moment Lou talked about him - is there anything wrong here? - he stopped walking and put his hands on his hips with a question face looking between me, Lou and the Guard

-I mean y-

-Nothing Sir - the guard interrupted me

At that point I was done with the President and I sent him away to the paramedics.

-You should never interrupt a lady - I said getting up and taking my gloves off

-Sorry Ma'am - he looked sacred and apologetic

-i just saved your job so, could you go back to the room I was and pick my stuff please ?

-Where is the room, and what does your stuff look like? - he said ready to go

-You can figure that out - I said and pointed for him to go, and he did. He was so terrified

-What was that? - Steve asked me hugging me from behind

-The power of my title as your girl - I turned to him smiling

-Care to elaborate?

-I roasted him because he came with attitude towards me, and when he found out I was your girlfriend he got terrified, that's all - Steve laughed and watched as the guard came back with my purse

-See, I told you would find - I smiled to him and got the purse from his hands.

-I don't know who this purse belongs to, so I'mma go get mine - I got out of Steve's arms laughing and went to get my actual purse.

When I came back, the only car there was Steve's Metallic red truck

-Waiting for me?

-Yes, we got a plane to catch - he offered me his hands and leading me to the plane I was supposed to board earlier that day

-What do you mean? I canceled the meetings

-I called them and reschedule for this afternoon

-Seriously? When you did that?

-Now, I called him and explained to them and they agreed to meet in a few hours. So shall we?

-Let's go!
