I tapped the pencil on the desk nervously as the teacher walked around handing out the test that we took last week. My best friend slouched in the chair, his sunglasses over her eyes so that the teacher didn't know she was sleeping. The thing about my best friend is that she doesn't even try in this class, and she automatically passes. I would say because she's having an affair with our teacher but that would be a reach because she do good in all her classes.

She constantly skips and sleep in class, never do her homework, talks back to the teachers, and walk out of class and yet she has all A's. But me, I'm a C average student who tries her best but never succeed.

The teacher places the packet on my desk, and knocks on Normani desks to wake her up. I turned the the packet over to see that it was a 60. A fucking D.

I looked over at Normani' sage had a 95. An A. Of course I don't know why I'm surprised it's always like this, like she gets all the girls and the guys and I hardly get anyone. She's like the definition of a Bisexual. If an older person was to ask what Is a bisexual just say Normani because she likes woman and men EQUALLY. It's not like she likes men more, or she likes women more she likes them both equally.

Whenever she ends a relationship with with a man she goes to a woman and it's like a pattern. I'm not calling her a slut but she do get around. She's kinda everything I want to be. The bell rings and we both stood up she throws her arm over my shoulder "turn that frown upside down and skip with me for fourth period with me!" I rolled my eyes "sorry Mani I'm actually trying to past this year" the older girl groans "you're no fun"

"Sorry I'll see you after school" she grabs my arm "please come with me...we're going to the beach"

"Mani what does that have to do with me? And why are you going to the beach knowing we're not supposed to go near water?" She shushes me pushing my back against the wall with her hand on my shoulder. "Dinah's going to be there, and I want to hang out with her. She's been flirting with me all month and I think I have a chance"

"What does that have to do with me"

"I need you to make me look good in front of her, tell her some good stories about me, make her fall in love with me" I groaned "No-"

"I'm also your ride so if you want to walk 10 miles home in this heat" she trails off before walking away from me. I groaned again following her "I swear you only care about yourself" she chuckles as we walk out the school. "I love you too"

"Wow I didn't know you were a feminist that makes you even better" Dinah bite her lip staring at Normani with lust in her eyes. I cringed getting from between the two "I'm going for a walk" Normani looks up at me. "I know how much you love the water but don't go near it"

"Don't tell me what to do"

"I'm serious y/n" I waved her off before walking away from the group of people who were drinking, and eating pizza, while listening to music not being subtle to the fact that they could get caught for skipping.

I found myself walking further and further away from the drunken teens until I made it to a huge rock, It was was near the deep part of the water and I was about to turn around until I saw someone swimming around it. My eyes widen, "HEY!" I yelled out the person didn't do anything but swim further away. "HEY GET OUT OF THERE!" I ran to water and paused once it touched my feet, fuck it. "HEY!" I walked into the water going to the rock to get a closer look and try to get the person attention but the time I got there I couldn't see them.

I climbed on the rock to get a better view but still didn't see anything, I sighed and sat down on the rock and just stared at the view. Bringing my knees to my chest I let the wind blow through my hair as I watched the waves.

We aren't supposed to be in the water, touch the water, we aren't supposed to be near the water because lately people been going missing near the water, and our town has suspect that something is in the water that is dangerous. But before all of this started to happen the ocean was already a dangerous place. I miss being able to play in the water with my friends and actually do something on the beach.

I don't know how long I was sitting here but the sun was setting and the sky turned beautiful with the pink and purple covering it. I decided that it was around time to go back home I stood up not being very careful and accidentally slipped off the rock hitting my head in return.

Pain shot through my head as my vision became blurry I gasped as water filled my mouth making harder to breath or yell out. Fear took over me as I started to lose consciousness I don't know if I was seeing things right but I saw something, someone swimming towards me. I blinked my eyes I noticed it was a girl she got closer as I tried to keep my eyes open and cups my face.

She looks at me with concern written on her face as she examines me. The last thing I remember is her pressing her lips to mines. Before I blacked out.

I felt a warm feeling all over my body maybe it was because of the sun that was shinning on me or that someone had their arms wrapped around me. I open my eyes before shooting up and coughing up water. I rubbed my eyes noticing that I was still on the rock.

"Oh good you're ok" I looked over to see a girl she was holding me in her arms. I furrowed my eyebrows "what hap-" something caught my eye. I looked down to see a tail. I rubbed my eyes once again to see if I was seeing things correctly. It was indeed a tail I looked up at the girl again "you hit your head pretty hard...I manage to heal you with a kiss"

"Y-you're a mermaid"

"Yes I am" she smiles my eyes widen as I stood up "I-I have to go!"

"Wait no!"

I fell into the water again the girl quickly pulled me back up "Are you ok?" I spit the water out I'm fine.

"I'm fine"

"You have to be careful there's danger in these waters-" she says. Holy shit mermaids are real. "Are you even listening to me?!" I came back to reality.

I looked around to see that the sun was replaced with the moon. My eyes widen "oh my god I got to get home what time is it? How long was I out?"

"For some hours like I said you hit your head really hard"

"And I'm not dead?"

"I healed you with a kiss" before I could say anything I heard my name "Y/N WHAT THE HELL?!" I looked over to see Normani. I turn back to the girl but she was no longer there.

"Y/N GET OVER HERE NOW!" I slide off the rock slowly before making my way to my best friend.....
