The Three Of Us

Chapter 42

"No don't go in there!!" I yell as the girl opens the door to see the person, or thing she is going to be murdered by. I turn and bury my head into hunters chest.

"It's okay, I tell you when it's over." He says keeping a strong hand on my back. I soak in all I can take of this moment and just when I thought it was going to end, it didn't. It felt like 5 minutes had past and the scene still wasn't over.

"Dude, the scene ended like 3 minutes ago." I hear Brayden wisper to Hunter.

"Right, the scenes over." He says and I lift my head but I don't sit up all the way; I rest my head on his chest. I wait to see what he will do and hoping that it isn't pushing me off but instead he puts his arm around my shoulder.

Once the horror movie was done we finally ate the pizza that had been sitting there for an hour. Hunter takes his arm off from my shoulder and I lift my head from his chest.

"I'm going to go get some cake from the restaurant." Brayden says and leaves. Me and Hunter just sit there beside each other in a awkward silence. I turn my head to look at him and looks like he did the same. We stare into each other's eyes but Hunter turns away. Brayden walks in.

"So did you guys finally just makeout already." I laugh at the awkward moment and my phone vibrates; I pick it up and the name reads- Jacob. I sigh and pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Carter, I'm so sorry."

"Jacob I can't do this right now."

"No listen, I love you and I didn't mean what I said, I want to be with you forever and I will do anything for you to take me back."

"Jacob, I love you too- I used to love you but-" I'm cut off.

"You used to?" His voice sounds hurt.

"I still do but you broke my heart, how do I know that you won't flip on me again?"

"Please just give me one more chance."

"I don't know, let me think." I hang up the phone with tears in my eyes.

"Are you okay?" I hear Hunter ask.

"Ya- Ya I'm okay." I say wiping my tears away.

"I'll be right back." I get up and go to the first room I see, I walk in and to my surprise it is clean. I sit on the bed and put my head I my hands. I cry and when I try to stop it comes out more.

"Hey, you okay?" I look up and see Hunter. Instead of lying I just shake my head.

"No." He comes closer to me and puts his arm around me an I bury my head into his chest and cry some more. I pull my head out and see a big tear stain.

"Sorry about your shirt." I say.

"It's okay, this has happens all the time." He says in a sarcastic voice and I laugh.

"So who made you so upset?" I tell Hunter mine and Jacobs whole relationship before telling him how and why Jacob broke up with me.

"I think he is a jerk." I laugh.

"Thanks Hunter; I never actually told anyone that." I feel so close to Hunter now that I have told him that.

"That's what friends are for."

"I think we are past just friends." I say.

"Like; you mean?" He ask all flappergased.

"Like best friends." I say and he looks relived but a little disappointed.

"Uh, Ya , best friends." He hugs me. When we break apart we leave the room. We decide to watch another horror movie which ends with me in hunters arms.
