The Three Of Us

Chapter 18

I walk out of school happy that's it's Friday and to Dallas's car. Me, Mickey, and Dallas are going shopping because Mickey is throwing a party tomorrow night. We go into the store and find the perfect dresses. I get a light blue lace dress with thin straps that goes about mid-thigh. Dallas gets a red strapless dress. Mickey gets a white strapless dress with a sweetheart neck line. Next we go look for shoes. I get a pair of black flats, Dallas gets a pair of black heals and Mickey gets a pair of blue flats. We get some accessories and then leave the mall. Dallas drops me off at my house and I go to my room to put my dress and shoes away. I go to my desks and do my homework before I eat supper. When I'm done supper I go up to my room and watch super natural until I fall asleep.

I wake up and have a shower before putting on a pair of black tights and an old sweater. I leave my hair to dry and put on alittle makeup. I grab my purse and the keys to my moms car and say goodbye to her before leaving for Mickeys house. Me and Dallas are going to help her set up for the party. I get there and we start setting up for the party. There isn't a theme for the party so we just hang lights and get a playlist ready. We make some punch and put chips and other foods in bowls. When we are done we start getting ready for the party. We are all just getting ready at mickeys house. I straighten my hair so it's pin straight and so does Dallas. Mickey curls hers. We put on our dresses and shoes and finish getting ready, and go down and watch super natural until people start showing up. About 15 minutes later the party was crazy. There were people dancing like sluts and it was just.. Well crazy. Me, Mickey and Dallas were talking when Lost In Stereo, By All Time Low comes on and I can't help but sing. When the song is over we go and sit down and just talk until a drunk mason comes up and interrupts us.

"Hey guys." he slurs.

"Mason your drunk." I tell him and he gets up and walks over to me.

"No! Your drunk!" He says in a little kids voice.

"K Mason, let's go get you some water." Says Mickey as she helps her boyfriend up to go get him some water. I look around and see Caleb, but he is kissing some slut in a dress that doesn't even cover her ass.

"Look Dallas." I tell her and point to Caleb.

"That jerk."

"No it's fine, I mean I wasn't dating him or anything and I was just as bad for dragging him along this far. This just means that he wasn't the one." I say but I do feel a little hurt. Jensen comes over and asks Dallas to dance and I tell her to go ahead. Once she's gone I get up and walk around. I bump into someone and it was Caleb.

"Sorry." I say and try to walk away but he stops me.

"Hey babe." I can tell he is still sober.

"I'm not your babe, k? She's your babe, you know the girl who's face you where just sucking off." I say and it looks like it doesn't even hurt him.

"What ever." Is all he says and then walks away. I decider that I need some air so I go outside. I sit in the leaves and rub my arms because it is cold. Damn it! Why didn't you grab a sweater or jacket! My thoughts are inturupted by a door being slammed and then someone sitting next to me. I look over hoping it to be Caleb but instead it is a boy with dirty blond hair. He looks about my age and he is sitting there with his legs pulled up to his chest. He is wearing kakis and a black shirt. He looks at me.

"Sorry." I say looking away.

"It's okay, so what has happened to make you sit out here in the dark alone."

"Nothing." I say.

"Well it has to be more then nothing, here I'll go first. I saw my girlfriend kissing a boy and when I told her that I saw her all she said was 'whatever'"

"Same, my boyfriend.. Well we weren't really boyfriend and girlfriend yet, anyways he was kissing a girl and when I asked him about it all he said was 'whatever'" I say and me and the boy break out in laughter.

"Well, looks like we both have had a pretty bad time." He says and I sigh.

"Yep."

"So what's your name?"

"Carter."

"I'm Jacob." Me and Jacob talk for a little while longer and I find out that he goes to the same school as me but we only have one or two classes together. We go back into the party and Jacob points out his soon to be x-girlfriend.

"That's her." He says.

"That's the girl that Caleb was kissing."

"Really?"

"Ya, small world." I say, Jacob walks up to Alex (his girlfriend) and starts talking to her. Half way through I see her throw her hands up and stomp away. He walks back to me.

"There, she is officially my x-girlfriend."

"Good, you deserve someone better then her." I see a cocky grin appear on his face.

"Oh really, maybe someone like you?" I feel a blush come my cheeks and I look away.

"Carter how would you like to go to dinner and a movie with me tomorrow?"

"I'd love to." I say and I really mean it this time. I get butterfly's in my tummy when I look at Jacob, but I didn't feel anything when I looked at Caleb.

The party ends around 1:00 a.m. I hop in my moms car and drive home. I was going to stay over with Mickey and Dallas but I decided to go home because I want to get ready for my date. When I get home I go up to my room and take off my dress and put on pjs. I hop in my bed and fall asleep thinking of how much I can't wait for this date.
