You and Sarah sat opposite one another, your fingers ghosting over her own. You could cut the tension in the room with a knife. But it was good tension. Sexual tension. Not that you could, would admit that the feeling was somewhat mutual. You were glad that Sarah had invited you out for a meal first, it made what you had planned less obvious. Sarah hadn't said anything, but being a fangirl girl to begin with, you knew it was her birthday tomorrow. You couldn't do nothing. She'd always been a huge part of your life, even when she didn't know you existed at all. You had rang a restaurant ahead of time and informed them that it was her birthday. You had told them of her favourite dessert and they had promised to deliver the best. You were excited to suprise her, especially after being told that noone else really celebrated her birthday with her. It made you sad that noone appreciated Sarah the way she deserved, the way you wanted to.

You two had decided to move inside after it began to get dark, Sarah had already started to get cold; and had been sat next to you with your jacket wrapped around her delicate shoulders.

"This is beautiful y/n... thank you"

You blushed under her gaze, the nervousness creeping back; as it always did while in her presence. The rub of her fingers, delivering even more tingles and butterflies in your stomach. Although, she brought so much more than butterflies; like a whole zoo. It was as though, just the two of you together had enough power to make stars aline.

"We couldn't not celebrate"

"Celebrate?"

You gestured towards the group of waiters carrying over a lit up dessert; they had written 'happy birthday' on the plate. A small gasp left Sarah's throat; and you wanted nothing more than to hear that noise over and over again.

"Y/n/n..."

"Happy birthday sweet thing" you squeezed her hand.
