Sarah placed the ring box on the fireplace and turned towards the tree. You heart was racing and the fact sarah was still giggling wasn't making you feel any better. You wished she would just tell you what was going on. This isnt exactly how you expected this all to go.
"Here... open this" she passed you your own small, dark purple box. It couldn't be the same thing, could it?
You opened the box and you soon realised why sarah had started to laugh at you. You wanted to laugh too, but shock had filled your body and prevented you from doing anything other than cry.
"I sure hope those are happy tears... fiancée" Your eyes looked up towards sarah so quickly you were scared they were going to fall out of your skull.
"Is that a yes to my question?" Sarah smiled and took ahold of your free hand.
"If it's a yes to mine, love. I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is gonna want to get out of this thing. But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life, because I know, in my heart, you're the only one for me."
"Of course it's a yes!" You placed your box next to Sarah's on the fireplace and fell into her open arms.
