@official_y/n: we're not married yet so your threat is futile▪︎▪︎▪︎
It had been going on for the past 2 weeks, constantly waking up in the morning to empty your stomach of the previous nights meal, to then crawl back into bed with Sarah. You knew it could mean you were pregnant, but you didn't want to get your hopes up, having heard stories about couples that had undergone multiple rounds of IVF without anything happening. It was almost impossible for you to be pregnant after only one try, right?
"Are you sure you won't come with love? I hate leaving you on your own." Sarah and the cast were going out for a celebratory meal, and you had declined politely, wanting nothing more than to hide in your bed. You hadn't disclosed to Sarah what had been happening; not wanting to worry her or get her hopes up either.
"Yes baby, I'm sure. I'm just going to sleep this sicky feeling off and then I'm all yours when you get home, have a drink for me." You kissed her lips once more before she was out the door. You had wishfully brought a couple pregnancy tests earlier in the week, and you hadn't felt ready to do them until right now. Neither had you had anytime to do so without Sarah finding out what you were up to.
You reached your bathroom and took your place in front of the mirror, your cheeks were fuller- you had noticed- and your skin was glowing, or so you thought. All coincidences maybe?
*Time skip*
It was cliche to think but those 3 minutes you had to wait were quite possibly the longest you had ever waited in your life. It was impossible to calm yourself, your breathing was almost past your control, and your hands were- as usual- shaking beyond belief, to anyone else it look liked you were at the beginnings of a panic attack. But you weren't sure what you felt, you didn't think it was panic because you had dreamed of this moment for a long time, but you were nervous. You wanted this so bad for you and for Sarah, and if it turned out to be negative you knew you'd be distraught.
You jumped as your phone alarm rang, alerting you that the stick was ready to tell you the news. It took everything in you to reach up from your place on the floor, to grab the stick and bring it into your eye-line.
"Oh my god..." Those 2 pink lines were there and they were staring you down. Your breath hitched and tears ran down your cheeks and into the spaces between your fingers of your hand that covered your mouth. You felt sick, all the nervousness before had left and butterflies flooded your chest, although you were pretty sure it was just a symptom of the little bundle inside of you.
You had to tell Sarah right away, you wanted her to enjoy her night out with the girls, but you couldn't keep a secret like this from her for any longer than you had to. You selected her contact from your phone and the dialling tone started.
"Hi Love, everything okay?" you could hear Cate and Sandra laughing in the background and Nora (Awkwafina) making a joke as usual. Sarah's voice brought you back to reality.
"I need you to come home Sar, please? I know you're with the girls, but I have to talk to you about something important." You listened as Sarah said her goodbyes to the table and moved to what you guessed was the restaurant exit. You loved that about Sarah, she'd drop everything for you, not that you would ask her too, apart from this time.
"Is everything okay babe? I'm on the way back now, I knew I shouldn't have left, do you feel any better? Do you need anything-"
"Sarah baby, everything is perfect, I just have to tell you something and I can't do that over the phone."
*Another time skip because I'm a lazy hoe*
"y/n? Baby, I'm home!" You heard Sarah walk in the front door and you ran towards her from upstairs, you just wanted to be in her arms. When you reached her, still holding the stick, you launched yourself into her arms, hugging her so hard.
Sarah's arms wrapped around your waist and held you closer to her, if that was even possible. Your face sunk into her neck and all Sarah could hear was your small sobs. She was scared, even though you sounded okay on the phone, she hated hearing you cry especially when she didn't know what to do or say to make you feel better.
"Baby tell me what's wrong?" Sarah pulled your face away from her and held it in between her hands, rubbing away your tears and smiled brightly at you.
"Nothing's wrong Sar, everything is so right... look at this.." You handed her the pregnancy test, she looked at it confused for a few seconds until realisation hit her. The smile on her face grew and her eyes rose to meet yours.
"You're pregnant!?!"
"We're pregnant!" You pulled Sarah back into your arms, holding her close as her own tears fell down her face.
"We're gonna have a baby!"
