Nemesis

Metamorphosing walls.

Flaming Arrows.

Piles of ash.

Face to face with his nemesis.

You weren't the only one who made the mistake, of talking too loudly in this ethereal world.

Sol lifted the heavy BG, a stream of water and few small fish poured from its barrel and mixed with the foul, disgusting mess on the table, before spilling to the floor.

How the hell does he expect that thing to fire, thought Denver, it looks like he's just dredged it from the river, it's a slimy green with weed, perhaps that's what he's been smoking?

Sol must have been reading Denver's mind.

"Oh yea, to the one with a very short memory, I only just told you the guns are not really here. Once again do you get the picture, whatever I do with the gun, will be replicated by my puppet? And what a pleasure it was to watch you totter and stumble before falling onto the breakfast table. What do you think boys, should we send that muppet back up the tower and get the job done?"

They jumped to their feet with a loud cheer and sang out loud.

'Come On, Come On, let's send that muppet back up the tower to get the job done.'

'Come On, Come On, let's send that muppet back up the tower to get the job done.'

'Let's blow another hole in the middle of his chest, for good measure.'

'Let's blow another hole in the middle of his chest, for good measure.'

'Then he can have his wish and burn on the river.'

'Then he can have his wish and burn on the river.'

'Bye, bye Denver.'

'Denver, bye, bye.'

'Stick that one in your eye.'

'Stick that one in your eye.'

It was then that Denver noticed Enzo glared straight at him, even though he'd no eyes, forcing him to remember how he's poked them out and soaked the corpses eye sockets with his own blood, as he escaped the sacred burial ground.

He also wondered where the sound came from, as they'd already coughed up their lungs, tongues, and larynx.

Looking beyond the singing bandits, enjoying their celebration, he noticed the Jail's wall was shimmering and it began metamorphosing. It looked like he imagined it did, when Sol's gang blew a hole in it, to set him free.

Oh my god, were more of these scum bags going to come through, to celebrate my execution or was he just willing a pathway through which the fatal slug could pass?

Suddenly the Jail was ablaze with burning arrows, it was like some indoor firework display. They showered down on the unsuspecting scum, setting alight their ragged muddy clothes which were like kindle soaked in whiskey and burst into flame as the arrows ripped through their bony torso's. It was a matter of seconds before they were just dust and ash, that merged indistinguishable from the mess already on the table and floor.

A band of Braves followed closely by Snakebite, emerged from the jagged hole in the wall. He had that evil smile on his face that Denver had come to fear after numerous close escapes over the years, his heart sunk in despair, this wasn't fair.

"Seems it's my lucky day, but I can't say the same for you Red Rock Bill, I don't know how you did it, but you made a mistake by playing on my ground, perhaps you now understand why your death is a must. I could have left it to Sol, but that would have ruined the pleasure I will enjoy when watching you die with my own eyes. Thankfully it seems you weren't the only one who made the mistake, of talking too loudly in this ethereal world.

He walked closer and looked at Denver through the cell bars, once again he found himself face to face with his nemesis.

With a wave of a hand, his Braves reloaded their bows, with flaming arrows, there'll be no escape for you this time young man, time to say your goodbyes.

Slowly, he raised his hand, to commence Denver's end.
