Simon Says
Simon hopped off his horse
His feet swollen and sore
He'd spend all day wandering
the filthy stinky Tent City
while all night he'd been riding
back to Carson City.
At the saloon
He ignored the ladies
Order a few Gut Warmers
And swallowed the free food.
He stumbled to the hotel
And slept till past noon.
He woke with a start
And dressed in a hurry
At the hotel, he stuffed a meal
And hurried to the meeting
He made it to the ranch
With a few minutes to spare.
He was let into the room
It smelled of smoke and whiskey
he boss sat at his desk
Blue Steel Eyes at his side
"Simon, you're back
How'd was our little expedition?"
Simon recounted the tale
Of BG and Tent City
"The place is perfect
It fits our plans
It's near the river
Along the railway track
The Mayor is a family man
He is the one to catch
The sheriff could be trouble
He shoots first and asks later
But he's laid up, he was shot
The town's grieving over some loss"
The boss chewed his cigar
And nodded at Blue Steel Eyes
"The Mayor will be persuaded
At all and any cost
Tomorrow bright and early
We set off to BG.
