Annie's Dilemma
This business with the Denver family
was almost too much for Annie.
Although she loved intrigue,
this was one thread too many.
The wallets, the drama,
the shooting, the coma!
And then there was Bella.
Annie wanted to like Bella.
She really did.
But jealousy deep inside her heart was hid.
When she saw Bella and Brody together,
they just seemed to fit.
She wanted them to be happy,
But at the same time hated it.
She returned to her conquest: conquering Bart.
It seemed she had already won his heart.
But her heart wasn't in it.
The trip to County would be just the thing.
She could get to know Bella without prying.
They headed off in the wagon and had a swell time.
Rue had to go away, but that was fine.
They all went shopping; there was so much to see!
Annie thought about buying cuff links for Brody.
She was annoyed that he was the first person to come to mind,
but a gift for Bart she couldn't seem to find.
He had everything already, she thought with dismay.
She bought another pair of cuff links and stowed them away.
The ladies arrived back and heard the news about Lou.
None of them were sure what to do.
Annie decided to go to the jail to see
if she could give the cuff links to Brody.
She stepped outside and took a peek.
There was Brody kissing Bella on the cheek.
