Day Nine

And you thought that was crazy

Everyone froze, Snakebites arm was held in the air, ready and waiting to seal Denver's doom when the sound of thundering hoofs could be heard.

They could not see from inside the Jail, but it was clearly the sound of a stampeding herd of Buffalo, how ironic thought Denver and quietly cheered.

The fiercest battering ram in nature had been stirred into a frenzy by one lone rider.

What a sight for sore eyes she made, dressed all in white, sitting side-saddle of the largest beast I'd ever seen, her pretty bonnet fluttered in the breeze, could this get any weirder?

With confidence she managed five tons of prime beef, guiding it skilfully toward the hole in the wall, which on the outside was as big as a barn door.

The stampede surged into the Jail, an unstoppable juggernaut, sweeping the Braves, tables, chairs, and Snakebite from the floor and out the front door, the startled Denver could not have wished for more.

With her job done, the 'White Rider' cantered cautiously into the Jail, hoofs skidding on the slippery floor.

Dismounting with all the grace of a Cattle Baroness, CG strode up to the cell, wherein true fashion she gave Denver an almighty ear bashing.

I hope that for one moment you don't think I'm here for you, I've told you time and time again that the world doesn't revolve around you and your family, in fact, in my opinion, there's only one thing that matters, you could do with a good lashing.

I came to fetch that idiot Little Ron sat in the corner, who should be working in the café, for his keep.

"My god Ron why on earth are you chewing on a rat, oh please don't tell me, I hope it's not who I think it is."

Ron sheepishly replied.

"It could be Ma'am I found him whilst scavenging in the rubbish heap."

Turning her attention back to Denver, she said.

"I also keep telling everyone, that the remedy for this amnesia, which has you trapped in an alternate reality, is a bang on the head."

She rolled up a copy of tomorrows newspaper and proceeded to use it, to beat him about the head and shouted.

"You'll soon be yesterday's news when everyone learns you're not dead."

It seems like her crazy remedy worked, for he awoke with a start, shielding his head from invisible blows, ranting about some woman who wouldn't leave him alone, even when I'm trapped in his mind.

Missy gently cupped his hands and pulled them from his head, whispering.

"Careful honey you don' want to undo all the good work that's been done."

He could see from the tears in her eye's that told that it had been a close call this time, the spirits had been kind.
