Aurora

"Aurora" I can feel my mothers presence in front of me as she called out my name. I didn't want to open my eyes. I was still very tired. I knew I had to get up eventually though. My class was going to start soon. I sat up from the couch groaning and grabbing my neck in pain. It was not a very comfortable sleep. I didn't plan on sleeping on the couch last night. I sat down here to think. I must've fallen asleep.

"Why are you sleeping on the couch?" My mother asked sternly. I finally opened my eyes to look at her. She had her hands on her hips with her foot stomping the floor eagerly.

"I didn't mean to." I sighed. I searched around for my phone; panicing when I couldn't find it.

"Looking for this?" My mother held my phone up in her hand. My heartbeat began to quicken. Why did she have my phone? I mean, I have nothing to hide, but I would like to have at least a portion part of my life private from my parents.

"It wouldn't stop ringing and beeping. I was annoyed." She casually said holding out the phone in front of me. I awkwardly took the phone from her hand.

"Doesn't your class start at ten?"

I looked at the time on my phone. Nine thirty-five. I jumped up from the couch in surprise. I stood up too quick; causing me to trip and fall on my face on the tiled floor.

"Goodness Aurora. I can't believe you're actually twenty-one." My mother shook her head then walked away.

I groaned and sat up. Leaning my back against the couch, I rubbed my face in pain. I was going to be late for my first day of classes. I stood up and made my way upstairs. Curiously, I opened the door to my room to see the bed empty. I walked over to the neatly made bed running my hand over it. The window was open wide, the wind blowing the curtains. I closed and locked the window before going to pick out my outfit of the day.

I was twenty minutes late. When I opened the door to the classroom the professor stopped what she was doing for a quick second before continuing again. I was so glad this wasn't like high school where everyone would stop to look at you. I found a seat in the back corner, quickly sliding into it. The professor was going over the syllabus. Weirdly my thoughts wandered off to Harry in the middle of class. When did he leave? Why would he go out the window was the real question. No actually. The real question was why he showed up at my window at all. In the middle of the night and disturbing my slumber at that.

I gathered my belongings and paced out of the class when the professor announced that we were free to go. I sent a text to Odyessy, letting her know where to meet me. I sat down on the salmon couch that was placed in the lounging area and took out the ziplock bag of fruits I brought to eat. Odyessy showed up as I finished eating.

"You look so miserable" she laughed. Odyssey threw her bag on the floor then threw herself on the couch next to me.

"It would be a surprise if I don't," I told her seriously.

She laughed once again. "What's wrong my love?"

"My life is what's wrong" I sighed. I laid my head on her shoulder and closed my eyes.

"Tell me."

"My parents are out to get me Odyssey. Just when I thought they couldn't possibly ruin my life anymore. They plot the biggest conflict of them all."

She pushed me off of her, taking a hold of my shoulders "Oh my god Aurora. Did they actually go through with it?"

"What do you think?"

She shook her head resuming back to her previous position. "Are you serious! It's barely been four months and they already have you engaged? Are they that heartless?"

I choked back my tears as Odyessy spoke. I couldn't believe it either. My parents didn't care about my feelings. They only cared to do what they wanted. They say that it's for my benefit. No. It isn't for my benefit. They are just that heartless. There was absolutely no way of denying that.

"We should get going then. What class do you have next?" Odyessy stood up from the couch and grabbed her bag from the floor, swinging it onto her shoulder.

"Statistics with Brenne"

"Oh, me too!"

It was difficult for me to focus on the lesson with Odyessy making jokes and rude remarks about the professor and other students in the class. There was no way I was going to pass this semester with being in the same class as Odyessy. Last semester we oddly had almost all the same classes. I almost failed all of them because of her.

"I'm telling you Aurora, that guy looks like he would cry during the middle of an intimate moment." She nodded her head towards a blonde, medium length, wavy-haired boy with glasses. He was fairly skinny with big feet. She was right. He did look like the type of person who would cry.

"Stop being mean" I scolded her.

"I'm not being mean! I'm bored. And I need someone to take back to my dorm after this class."

I gave her a disapproving look. She laughed

"What Aurora? I need some action. It's been too long."

I recalled the phone call from last night. "Weren't you with someone last night?"

"Mh yeah. He was good." She grinned, wiggling her eyebrows at me.

I shook my head and rolled my eyes. "You can take me to your dorm."

"Mh, that sounds like fun. I've never been with a girl before"

"Odessey!" She laughed, hanging her head back. She didn't seem bothered by the stares we got from the people around us.

"Oh my god. You're going to get us kicked out of class." I groaned.

Statistics being our last class for the day, Odessey and I walked through the parking lot to find her car. As we reached the car I spotted a familiar figure from the corner of my eye. It couldn't be. I turned my head to test my theory. Harry was stood there, leaning against a parked white car with his phone in his head. Per usual. As if he knew someone was staring at him he lifted his head up. His gaze met mine. He pushed himself off the car not making any other movements. He was still staring in my direction. What was he doing here? Did he think I was going to get in the car with him? How the hell did he even know what college I went to? This has my mother written all over it.

"What are you looking at?" Odyssey asked curiously. She turned to the direction I was staring at before pulling on my arm.

"Oh my god. Is that him?"

"Let's go," I told her quickly getting in the car. I looked through the side view mirror. He got in the car and sped off.

"At least he's hot," Odyssey said as she pulled out of the parking lot.
