Aurora

The semester had officially come to an end. It was mid April and finals week was in two weeks. Everyone was cramming trying to study for finals. I was a horrific mess. My head was clouded with unnecessary thoughts that were not going to help me pass my finals. I had to stop thinking about Harry. It wasn't as easy as it sounded. He was everywhere. He was all my mother talks about everyday, he was there when I got back from school, he was there on weekends, and he has even managed to mingle his way into my dreams. It was horrifiying. How was I meant to focus when all I see is him. I needed to get away to take a break from Harry, from my mother and especially from all this wedding planning. It wasn't doing me any good. I needed to get back on track and focus on the more important things if I want to graduate this June.

And so I left.

"I cannot believe you convinced me to a getaway when we have finals in two weeks Aurora. We need to focus and study. Law school isn't an easy thing to get into and if we want to graduate in June we have to stay focused, we do not have time to take vacations!" Odyssey has been complaining about this throughout the whole trip. On the way to the airport, when we boarded the plane, when we got off the plane, our taxi ride to the hotel and now in our hotel room. I had never seen her so stressed before.

"This is why we needed this getaway Odyssey. In order to regain focus we have to clear our minds, we were not going to accomplish that in Boston. I brought everything we need to study for the finals because once we clear our heads we are going to get right to it babygirl and I will have you back in Boston before the finals. Now quiet fussing and let us enjoy this moment because it isn't going to last forever."

Odyssey sighed deeply. "This better work"

"It will."

"Fine. I will stop fussing and try to enjoy the moment."

"Great! The first thing we must do is eat because I am starved. Can you order us room service while I go shower." She nodded, searching around for the menu. I got a change of outfit from my suitcase, quickly making my way to the shower right after.

By the time I was showered and dressed our food had arrived. We laid on the beds eating while trying to find something to talk about that didn't have to do with back home.

"Are you never going to tell Harry how you feel about him?"

"Odyssey please, we came here to get away from all of that. Can we just enjoy this trip without mentioning his name and anything that has to do with him or the wedding please."

"I suppose you're right."

"Why did you bring us to New Orleans Aurora? You could've picked a place that had nice beaches" I rolled my eyes at Odyssey's continuous whining ever since we left the hotel.

"We didn't come to swim and quiet frankly New Orleans is a beautiful city. You promised to stop complaining and enjoy the moment. First on our to do list is to walk down the French Quarter. They say it is the oldest and most famous neighborhood in New Orleans, also known to be the heart of New Orleans. Then we are going to head down to Bourbon street for some street dancing and food. Sounds fun right?"

"I suppose. As long as we get to drink I'm all for it"

-

"You always get like this during finals week Aurora. Just relax and take a deep breath."

"I can't relax. I need to study. I can't afford to fail my finals."

"You need to take a break. How about we go somewhere. Like a getaway"

"I don't think that's a good idea."

"Oh come on Aurora. It'll be good for the both of us. We don't have to go far. Just a place where we can relax, clear our minds and take a break from all this stress."

I looked up at him with a pout. That did sound nice, but I wasn't convinced. Although I wanted to be stress free, I don't think a getaway was the way to go. "What do you have in mind?"

"I already booked us a room at an Inn. I also got a room for Odyssey because I will never hear the end of it if she found out we left her out." I laughed at the thought. Although it was true.

We left the next day to the Inn. It was absolutely beautiful. It had an indoor pool, free breakfast and a private, quiet room away from my mother.

The door in our room flew open, Odyssey came in running, jumping onto the bed. Who ever thought of joint rooms? "Aurora! We have to go down to the spa, I was just down there and oh my god it's beautiful."

-

"Aurora, snap out of it!" Odyssey clapped her hands in front of my face, trying to get my attention.

"What?"

"You totally zoned out. What are you so deep in thought about?" I shook my head, "Nothing. Where are we?" I looked around at the place we were at. It was a bar. I don't remember coming into a bar.

"Well I had a thought. Since we are here in New Orleans on a 'getaway' I was thinking why not have your bachelorette party right? While you were busy dancing in the streets I met these two guys, they're the sweetest really, anyways, they recommended this bar, supposedly it's famous for bachelor and bachelorette parties."

"Odyssey. I don't think that's a good idea" I groaned. I was not into the whole bachelorette party of it all. I wasn't my scene.

"Of course it is! Look I got you a stripper, and unlimited drinks. We are going to be partying all night baby" This is not what I had in mind when I said we needed a break for the stress. Two guys had came into the bar shouting inhuman noises. Apparently Odyssey knew them because she joined along.

"Aurora this is Louis and Liam, the guys I was telling you about. Guys this is Aurora, our bachelorette. Now let's party!"
