Aurora
It was the first of February today. Friday. I only had one class on Fridays, which I was very thankful for. I am all drained out for the week. My class was going to end soon. In fifteen minutes. I didn't want it to end honestly even though I was very tired. The end of the class meant that I would have to go 'spend time with Harry' as my mother said. I just wanted to go to bed. It was a Friday, I needed to sleep until the weekend. If only Odyssey were here. She would've accompanied me during this dreadful day.
The professor shut off his computer before continuing to talk. I looked up at the clock on the wall. I didn't realize how fast those fifteen minutes went by. I was too lost in my thoughts. "Your third exam before the finals will take place, next class. I uploaded the notes we have been discussing for the past two weeks online, you might want to take a look at them before the exam. With that said you are free to go, enjoy your weekend." Everyone got out of their seats, leaving the class as fast as they possibly could. I gathered my belongings, shoving them in my bag before leaving myself.
I went to the Subway restaurant that was on campus, buying myself a sub before walking to the bus stop. The bus usually takes twenty minutes to get here. I could just walk home, but that was a hassle. I sat on a bench in front of the bus stop and proceeded to eat my sub. A white car pulled up in front of me as I was waiting for the bus. An all too familiar white car. A white car I have seen way more times than necessary. I didn't make any movements. Neither did the person in the car. It's like he was waiting for me to get in. I mean, which he probably was. I thought I had more time before seeing him. I wanted to go home and rest for just a little while even. I should probably change into the dress my mother made me put in my bag before I left for my class this morning. She told me that is what I better be wearing when I am with Harry and when I get back home. She's something else really. The horn sounded from the car, causing me to jump in surprise. I stood up throwing out the wrappers from my food. I opened the door to the car, quietly getting inside.
Harry pulled out of the driveway, driving off into an unknown direction once we got off the freeway. I didn't know if asking him where he was taking me was the best idea. I did want to know though. What if he was kidnapping me? Why would he want to kidnap me though, he's already forced to marry me. What if he's taking me out into the woods to kill me. Make it look like an accident.
"Where are we going?" I fearfully asked him. He gazed at me before turning his attention back to the road.
"What is wrong with you?" He asked lowly.
"Nothing. I just want to know where you're taking me." I say defensively.
Harry brings his free hand up to his mouth. His fingers began to gently caress the bottom of his lip. "A place your mother suggested we go. It's not that far from here." My mother suggested he take me somewhere out in the woods? It didn't sound like her at all. She would prefer a fancy restaurant of some sort. I chose not to question him any further about our whereabouts.
The car came to a halt suddenly. We were stopped on a dirt road. Harry put the gear in the park before getting out of the car. I looked around the area we were at through the windshield. There were many trees around and a large body of water. There was a big sign on the side that read 'Fresh Pond Reservoir.' A beautiful one at that. The view was amazing, the water looked to be very clean and fresh.
The door to the side I was at was pulled open. Harry stood in front of me with a confused look. "Are you coming?" He asks.
I hesitantly get out the car, taking my bag with me. He leads the way down the trail, down to the water. Harry stops at a tree that was close to the pond. He takes off his sweater laying it down under the tree before sitting down. I quietly sit down beside him. Silence overtakes the atmosphere as I look around the reservoir. Harry began to throw pebbles into the water. I brought my knees close to my chest, resting my head on them. The weather seemed to be decent today. Better than the horrible weather we've been having these past few weeks. It was in the sixties today, considering that it was the middle of winter. It almost felt like spring. Anyone could be mistaken if they were to visit Boston today. The snow had already disappeared from many areas of the town. A fresh warm breeze blew through the air, my hair blowing along with it.
I gazed at Harry who had recently stopped throwing the pebbles in the pond. "Happy Birthday," I said to him quietly.
He stopped what he was doing for a second to look at me. His green eyes meeting mine. "Thank you." He responded back just as quietly.
"I got you something" He looked at me with surprise and confusion. As if he couldn't believe what I just said.
"You did?" He asks. I nodded. I unzipped my school bag and took out the small black gift bag. I held out the bag for him to take. He looked at it for a few seconds before carefully grabbing it. He set the bag down on the floor of the other side of him, not bothering to open it. I would be lying if I said I wasn't offended. He handled it as if he didn't even care for it. I spent a good amount of money on the gift. I wouldn't have bothered with getting him anything if that was the case. I just really like buying people gifts. It was the thrill I got when I see their reaction to how sincerely they appreciated it.
I didn't bother with telling him to open it. He would do it on his own time I suppose.
