Aurora

"Where are you taking me?"

"We'll get there soon enough if you stop asking."

I had kept my mouth shout for the rest of the walk. I looked down at our holding hands before looking up at him and smiling. We walked down a hill until we finally reached a golf course. My smile dropped at the scene. From a distance I could see my parents, Odyssey and his parents.

"What are we doing here?" I asked with a sigh.

"We're going to play golf of course. What else would we do at a golf course." He laughed. I sighed but nodded. If this is how he wanted to spend the day then I guess that is fine. Odyssey had ran over to give me a hug once we were inside the field.

"What is going on?" I asked her.

"What are you talking about? We're going to play some golf" I let out a groan at her response. I wasn't expecting that answer. Why were we playing golf? Since when did everyone suddenly become interested in golf?

Twenty minutes into the game and I was about ready to pass out. The sun was burning and all this walking around trying to find small white golf balls wasn't doing me any good. I watched as he hit the ball with his club, It had went pretty far. The ball went over a near by hill, onto the other side of the field.

"I've got it!" He yelled before running after the ball. Next thing I know everyone else was following after him. Odyssey walked over to me and linked her arms with mine. "Let's go" She smiled. I walked with her down the hill with no question.

"Since when did you like golf?" I questioned her.

She let out a loud laugh with her head hanging back. "Are you kidding me. Who could possibly like this?"

I stopped in my tracks, turning to look at Odyssey "Then why are we here?" She gave me a toothy smile, nodding her head behind me. I turned around in confusion. Suddenly my heart began to race. The green field had red rose petals scattered all around, the two nearby trees were decorated in fairy lights, and a little table with two chairs was set in the middle with a candle lit dinner. He was on one knee, smiling up at me with a ring in his hand.

"What are you doing?" I cried as I carefully walked over to him.

"Will you marry me?"

"What?"

"Aurora,"

-

Suddenly the covers had been pulled off of me and thrown elsewhere. I squeezed and blinked my eyes a few times to adjust them. Odyssey stood over me with a big grin on her face "Aurora, wake up! Today is the day"

"What are you talking about?" I asked with a groan. Odyssey laid down on the bed next to me. She crossed her legs on top of each other and stared up at the ceiling.

"We are going wedding dress shopping." I let out yet another sigh. I had been dreading this day. It's not that I didn't want to go look for a wedding dress, it was every girls dream. My mindset had changed over the months and shopping for a wedding dress just wasn't something I wanted to do anymore.

"Did you talk to your mom about changing the date of the wedding?"

I let out a sigh at the thought of the question "There's nothing to talk about. You know my mother Odyssey, when she has her mind set on something there's no way of telling her otherwise."

"Aurora, if you never talk to her about how you feel about things, specifically things she does on a daily basis that make you uncomfortable and uneasy, then you're never going to get anywhere. You have to put your foot down at some point. I thought that moment would've been when she told you the date of your wedding. It's not fair to you for her to do something like that. Especially when it means so much to you."
