Aurora
"Come with me Odyssey. You can't leave me alone with that guy." I wanted to cry. My classes had just ended and I had to go to dinner with Harry. I did not want to go at all.
"Aurora, you'll be fine. He won't do anything to hurt you. He's just all talk. Not that he talks much"
I let out a big sigh as we got in her car. Odyssey pulled out of the parking lot and sped off onto the freeway.
"I'm busy today anyways." She smiled. I rolled my eyes at her.
"If you keep this up Odyssey you're going to catch a disease." I told her. She turned to look at me for some seconds and laughed.
"I'll be fine." She waved me off. Something was off about her today. I didn't know exactly what, but she certainly wasn't her chirpy self.
"Are you okay babe?" I asked her curiously. Her smile dissolved before appearing again.
Odyssey pulled into the driveway of my house. "Of course I am. I'll see you tomorrow my love. Have fun on your date with Le fiance" She grinned.
"It is not a date." I grumbled. I unbuckled my seat belt. "And I will not have fun." We said goodbye once more before I made my way to the house. I looked back to see Odyssey still parked in the drive way. I stopped myself from going over there and confronting her. Something was definitely going on with her, but I could tell she didn't want to talk about it right now. She would tell me when she was ready.
I went into the house, immediately being greeted by my mother. Why is she always standing at the door? It's like shes knows i'm coming.
"Go shower and get dressed in something decent and do something about your hair." That's all she said before walking away. I didn't try to fight with her at that moment. I was too tired to even try. It's like my mother wanted to pick fights with me. When I got to my room I went to my closet to pick out an outfit. I curiously looked at the little black dress that was hanging. I never asked Harry if he was the one who put it in the cart. I don't plan on asking him either. It was weird. It'll be even weirder if I wore it to this 'date.' I sighed, quickly turning my attention to a red dress.
I laid out my outfit on the bed then went to take a shower. After my shower, I dried and brushed out my hair, styling it into a ponytail. I examined the red knee length, off the shoulder, body-con dress once more before putting it on.
The dressed hugged my body perfectly. A little tight, but I decided to ignore that. I applied a clear gloss on my lips. I attempted to put on eyeliner and mascara, it wasn't a failed attempt as it usually was. Makeup was never my cup of tea. I went for more of a natural look. Eyeliner, mascara and lipstick was the most extreme of makeup I will do. The struggle of perfecting makeup then the struggle of having to remove it sounded like a hassle. I have enough hassle in my life.
I went over to my bed, retrieving my phone from my school bag. I put the phone in the black clutch I planned on taking with me. After I knew everything was completely done I slipped on the black wedges boots I bought yesterday.
My mother started yelling from the bottom of the stairs. "Aurora get down here, Harry has arrived!"
I sighed looking at my reflection in the mirror once more. I took out my phone. I opened the camera app; taking a quick picture. I looked over the picture. It was decent. I sent the picture to Odyssey before putting the phone back in my clutch. I switched off the light in my room, closing the door then carefully making my way downstairs.
My mother had a camera in her hand when I got downstairs. I mentally groaned. Why must she always insist? Harry stood by the door. He had his hands crossed over in front of him. I took a look at his outfit. He wore a red floral print suit with matching pants. A black button up was underneath. The material looked like leather. His shoes matched the button up. His hair hung over his shoulder. He's whole look looked expensive. He looked expensive.
Harry's eyes scanned my body. He did that a lot. It made me very self conscious. I've never felt self conscious about myself before. His eyes met mine for the first time since he arrived.
"Aurora, stand next to Harry." My mothers voice rang through my ears. I stepped down the last two steps. I stood next to Harry, leaving at least three inches of space between us.
"Get closer"
I sighed moving closer to him. My shoulder brushed over his. I moved away a bit to avoid any contact. My mother held up the camera, snapping more then one picture.
"Harry, put your arm around Aurora."
Oh my god, this is so embarrassing.
Harry stiffened from next to me. His hand came around my back, latching itself around my waist. His touch made my insides react weirdly. It was a feeling that I've never felt before so I couldn't quite put my finger on what the feeling was. It was strange. My mother motioned with her hand for me to move even closer.
"Mother just take the stupid picture!" I had enough already. I wanted this night to be over.
"Watch your mouth" She said before clicking the button on the camera. The flash went off then disappeared. I detached myself from Harry, moving away from him. I went to the coat hanger that was behind the door. I grabbed my jacket, putting it on, then zipping it up quickly after.
"Have fun."
