Aurora
My mother's voice sounded from outside my door, loud knocks following suite. It was way too early for this. I pulled the covers over my face in hopes that she would go away.
"Aurora, get up. Shower and get dressed please. Harry will be here soon" My mother sighed.
"Why is Harry coming here?" I groaned once again. Silence had overtaken us. I removed the covers from my face to look at her. She was in my closet going through my clothes. I let out a long, long sigh, once again covering myself with the covers.
"It's Valentine's Day sweetheart. Come on now, up you go. It is a very special day. Harry will be taking you to a fancy restaurant I suggested. Then to a special place I told him is your favorite." My mind wandered to this 'special' place as my mother went on and on about the day she had picture perfectly planned out for us. The only special place that holds a very strong place in my heart is the golf course. Was Harry actually willing to spend his Valentine's Day at a golf course with me?
"Get up Aurora. So we can beautify you." My mother spoke suddenly. She was done searching through my closet. Laying down a little black dress on the edge of my bed. It was the same little black dress Harry keeps denying he picked out when we went shopping. I throw the covers off of me and sat up on the bed. I grabbed my phone checking the time. It was ten twenty. Why must it be so early?

I stared straight at my mother as she did final touches on my look. She had done everything from picking out my outfit, curling my hair to applying my makeup. "You look absolutely stunning."
I walked around her going over to the mirror. I looked at my reflection with a smile on my face. I am not going to lie, I did look beautiful. My mother walked up behind me, gently placing her hands on my shoulders. "Now, I didn't want to tell you this, but you know I can't keep secrets. Harry is planning on proposing, with a ring. Act surprised when he does." I was taken aback. Completely shocked and very surprised. He was planning on proposing to me?
"How do you know this?" I asked my mother. She shrugged her shoulders before walking over to my bed. "I found a ring in the pockets of one of his suit jackets he left here a few days ago."
"Did you ask him about it? He told you he was going to propose?" She looked around the room avoiding eye contact with me.
"Well no. I just assumed. I mean why else would he buy a ring right?" I rolled my eyes at her words. She can't just assume things like that. What if he wasn't even planning on proposing at all. What If that ring belonged to someone else? It's possible that he could be holding it for one of his friends. My mother always loved to jump to conclusions.
The loud sound of the doorbell made us both turn on our heels. As my mother left the room to answer the door, I grabbed my phone and purse first before going downstairs also. Harry stood by the door looking up at me as I carefully made my way downstairs in the eight inch heels my mother made me wear. I preferred wedges honestly but she insisted.
Harry carefully scanned my body with his eyes before speaking "You look great."
I took in his outfit, he wore a light red floral print suit, with a black button up underneath and matching shiny dress shoes. His long hair complimented the look. He looked absolutely stunning, not that he's ever looked bad. I doubt he's had bad days when it comes to dressing himself. I on the other hand always have bad days. Everyday is a bad day honestly.
"Thank you. Should we get going?" I asked as I saw from the corner of my eyes, my mother searching for her camera in the living room cabinets. He nodded. Harry opened the door, letting me out first before he followed suite. We got in his car, driving away shortly after.
After driving in silence for a while Harry spoke up. "Do you want to go on this date?" He asked putting emphasizem on the word date. "What do you mean?" I questioned him weirdly.
"I'm asking if you really want this day to happen, since it was planned and forced upon us and all. I have somewhere to be. If you don't mind. So if this is just going to be a waste of a time and day, can you let me know so I don't have to cancel my plans."
I was not expecting that at all. My mother got this whole day wrong didn't she. If he didn't want to spend his Valentine's day with me I was not going to force him too. "Um, no I guess not." I mumbled. He nodded, his attention still on the road. I turned away from him, looking out the window instead.
"Where do you want me to drop you off?" He asks.
"Odyssey's dorm." I told him quietly. He hummed lowly before doing a U turn. I quickly got out the car once we had reached Odyssey's dorm room. I was embarrassed enough for one day. "Should I pick you up from here at seven o'clock?" Harry asked through the rolled window.
"Why?" I asked confusedly.
"So I can drop you off at home. Unless you want your mother to interrogate" He did have a point. I nodded giving him an okay. He nodded back before driving off. I let out a deep breath I was holding in, shaking my head in shame. I stood outside the college campus, holding my clutch tightly as I tried not to cry.
I can't believe that just happened.
