Aurora

The sounds of ruckus is what woke me up the next morning. I groaned rolling over in my bed, feeling the emptiness on the other side. Confusedly I sat up, attempting to open my eyes.

When I finally got my eyes open, Odyssey was digging through my drawers in search of something.

"What are you looking for?" I yawned. I stood up walking over to her.

"Ibuprofen." She mumbled still searching through the cabinets. I opened the door to my closet, going in. I walked over to the dresser I had in there and pulled open the second cabinet. I took out the bottle of ibuprofen before closing the closet door again.

"Here." Odyssey stopped what she was doing. She turned to me, staring at the bottle in my hand before grabbing it.

She pulled off the cap, gulping down four pills dry. I didn't say anything about the number of pills she took. It was best not to when she was dealing with much more important stuff.

"I'm sorry for waking you. My head is pounding." She sighed. She went to my closet and started to go through my clothes.

"It's fine. Where are you going?"

"To shower. Then I'm going back to my dorm room to pack. I have to go see my dad. I have to go home." I was relieved that she had come to her senses. I know later on in the future she would have regretted not saying goodbye to her dad. She would've never been able to forgive herself.

"I'll help you pack," I reassured her.

"There's no need. You have to get to class, your mother will kill both you and me if you miss it. Besides, I want to cry alone."

I nodded. If she wanted to be alone then I wasn't going to deny her that. Even though I think it would be best if she had someone with her. Being alone is never good. Especially when going through tough times.

Odyssey closed the closet after picking out a shirt to wear and a towel. "You should go back to sleep. I'll be fine."

It was eight forty five in the morning. I didn't have class until eleven today, which was a relief. Going back to sleep sounded like a good idea, but I could never now that I was already up. Even if I tried hard enough.

"I'm not tired. Are you sure you don't need help packing?" I asked. I just wanted to be absolutely sure that she wanted to be alone. It didn't matter if I missed my classes. Odyssey was way more important, no matter how much my mother tries to tell me otherwise.

"I'm sure Aurora. I just need you to drive my car back here from the airport afterwards if that isn't a problem. I don't want to have to pay for overstay parking. If you could put it in your garage that would be very helpful."

I didn't have my license. Odyssey was aware of this also. She's made me drive her car countless times without a license. I would be shitting bricks while she laughed the whole time. Now that I think of it, Odyssey always makes me do things that could get me arrested. I kind of liked it. She, unlike me, was a risk taker. That's another thing I loved about her.

"I am not driving your car without a license again Odyssey. You remember how well that worked out last time." I reminded her.

She turned to me with a small smile on her face. "Oh yeah. That was a good day." She laughed half-heartedly. Her quiet laughter died down after some seconds. She let out yet another sigh.

"Ask your fiancé if he can drive it back. I really do not have the money to pay to put it in a garage. I'm going to go shower now. Call him please." That was the last thing she said before disappearing out of the room.

I didn't want to talk with Harry, especially not this early in the morning. Even if I did, how was I supposed to call him? I didn't have his number. My mother had Jane's number. I wouldn't be surprised if she had Harry's number too honestly. I didn't want to ask her, but I had to remind myself that this was for Odyssey.

I stood up from my bed leaving the room. I went to my parent's room. They were still asleep. I searched the room with my eyes for my mother's phone. It was on top of her night stand plugged in the charger. I quietly went over it, trying my best not to wake them up.

I wasn't ready to hear my mothers voice just yet. It was too early for all of that. I opened the phone, clicking on the contacts app. I was curious to see if she actually did have Harry's number. I typed in the letter H. Nothing came up. As I was going to type the letter A, my finger hit the recent calls list.

My eyes widened at the third contact name that she had recently called yesterday. Aurora's Husband. Why must she always? I mentally groaned clicking on the "i" icon next to the name.

I quickly typed the number in my phone before placing my mother's phone back on her night stand and leaving the room. When I got back to my room, I sat on my bed, staring at the number. Would it be best if I called or texted? Calling seemed faster since I didn't know how long he would take to respond to a text. Or if he was even up at this time.

Coming to the conclusion that I certainly did not want to hear his voice either, I started to type a message.

Aurora: Hey, I need a favor.

My leg started to bounce as I anxiously waited for his reply. Ten minutes had passed and still nothing. Just when I was about to lock my phone, a bubble with dots popped up.

He was typing.
