(Summer's POV)

As Isabel and I reached the school, I saw Shawn and his friends hanging out on the front lawn. He was laughing about something, and I could feel his happiness from all the way over here. It was kind of contagious. Suddenly Isabel stopped and I ran into her back.

"Summer stop staring and smiling, you look like an idiot," she laughed at me. I could feel my face turning red. I glanced over one more time, and thought I saw him looking back. I quickly pulled Isabel behind a tree. He couldn't have been looking at me. He probably doesn't even know I exist. "What was that for?" Isabel looked at me questioningly.

"C'mon lets go inside," I ignored her question and dragged her through the doors, not looking back. We went to our home room first to get our locker assignments. Then we went to find them. This year, me and Isabel were a whole floor apart, so we had to separate outside HR. I was kind of sad. Last year, we had lockers that were practically next to each other. But, when I got to my new locker I cheered up a bit because it was right next to my friend Tyler's. I ran up behind him to surprise him and then gave him a hug.

"Heeeeyyyyyy Summer! How was your summer?" He winked.

"Good, you?" I answered and rolled my eyes at his joke.

"Great, I can't believe I haven't seen you all summer though! It feels like only yesterday was the last day of school!" Tyler grabbed his books out of his locker and followed me to mine.

"I know! I wish summer wasn't so short!" I complained.

"Well, I have to get to home room, the bells probably going to ring soon," Tyler waved bye.

"See you at lunch!" I waved back and turned back to my locker. I didn't actually know what supplies I needed so I just grabbed my planner, homework binder, and pencil case. As I was closing my locker I heard a familiar voice behind me. I turned around and there was Shawn. He was saying goodbye to all of his friends, then started walking towards me. Well, not me, but the locker next to me. Wait, his locker was next to mine!? Oh great. This was going to be a fun year. I hurriedly walked away and got back into my home room just as the bell rang, grabbed my schedule and slid into the seat next to Isabel.

"Guess, who has the locker next to me?" I whispered.

Isabel gasped excitedly, " Is it Shawn?!"

     I nodded my head sadly.

"Oh that's so great! It's like the universe is just doing my work for me!" She exclaimed.

"Ladies in the back. Quiet during announcements," our home room teacher, Mr. Silvers, pointed at us. We stopped talking but Isabel kept shooting me looks, and I tried to avoid her eyes. When we got out of home room we compared schedules. First period I had math with Miss Hale, but Isabel had history with Mrs. Dean. We walked as far as the East staircase and then we had to go different ways. I went up and she went right.

"See you at lunch Izzy!" I waved down at her.

"Bye Summer!" She waved back, already halfway down the hall.

Hopefully it's getting a little more interesting now! I'll post another part as soon as I can! Thank you so much for reading!!! xx
