(Summer's POV)

Me and Shawn actually became really good friends over the next few weeks. The carpool to school became a new thing, with my mom picking Aaliyah up along with the twins after school. My mom met Shawn's parents and they really liked each other, and Aaliyah and the twins were becoming super close too. One night they even invited us over for dinner. Me and Shawn watched Vampire Diaries and Supergirl, as promised, and we went to Millie's for milkshakes and sometimes dinner every Friday. Time went by so fast and suddenly it was the first Monday of October.

"So, class, our high school is doing a trip to a nature camp. It is overnight, we are staying Saturday night and Sunday night next weekend and we are coming back Monday. If you want to come, you need to sign these permission slips and attach the money. We are only taking the first 100 students so get these in fast. Actually you need to give them to me by Wednesday." Mr. Beckett, my home room teacher passed out papers to everyone. "I know this is short notice but it is a fun trip," He added. Me and Isabel looked at each other. Then the bell rang and we rushed out of the classroom.

"I think we should go. We don't really have anything to do this weekend so why not? It might be fun," I shrugged my shoulders.

"I will go..." she paused, "but only if you bunk with Shawn!"

"I don't even think they let boys bunk with girls," I blushed.

"We'll see," Isabel smiled. We separated and went to our separate classes. I couldn't focus on what Miss Hale was saying, I was thinking about the trip. It sounded like it would be really fun! And they most likely were not going to let boys and girls bunk together. So I was safe. After class I went to my locker. Someone tapped me on the shoulder and I saw Shawn.

"Did you hear about the camping trip?" He asked.

"Yeah! I think it sounds fun and I'm trying to get Isabel to go."

"Same! And Brian doesn't really want to go either."

"Maybe if we tell them that the other will be there....." I smiled. Both of us knew that Isabel and Brian had crushes on each other.

"Sounds like a plan," Shawn laughed. "See you at lunch!" I waved and went on my way to my next class. No, boys and girls definitely won't be bunking together...

"...and girls and boys CAN share a cabin because there is a curtain and two bathrooms..."

Oh no. I slowly looked over at Isabel and she was grinning. She saw me and gave me an enthusiastic thumbs up. I put my head in my hands. It was Wednesday afternoon and we were in a meeting for all the kids who were going on the trip. The teacher at the front was telling us all of the information. "So, for the cabins, there will be four girls, four boys, and one teacher in each. Right now I will pass around small pieces of paper. Please put the names of 7 kids you want in your cabin, and 1 teacher. We will try to make everyone happy." They gave everyone a small piece of paper and pencil. I sighed and wrote:

Isabel Rivers

Nicki Avery

Abby Garcia

Tyler O'Hara

Joshua Green

Brian Craigen

Shawn Mendes

Mr. Silvers

I handed the paper reluctantly to the teacher and sat back down. They then went over the things we need to pack, our bus assignments (thankfully I was on a bus with Isabel and Abby), and other details, even though it was all on the paper they handed us as we left. I walked home with my Isabel, Tyler, Abby, Shawn, and Brian. Brian kept trying to flirt with Isabel but she kept shutting him down. It was pretty funny to watch, and me and Shawn were trying not to laugh. I tried to talk to her about it later but she denied everything. It still hurt a little bit every time Shawn called me his friend, or when Brian would tease him and he would laugh it off. But there was nothing I could do, I just had to deal with the pain.

(Shawn's POV)

"Bye, see you tomorrow!" Summer shouted from her door. I waved and continued walking down the road. I was getting nervous already. Brian said he would only go if I bunked with Summer. At first, I thought that I was safe because they wouldn't put girls and boys together. But I was wrong, and I had wrote her name down. I wasn't that upset though. It might be fun to share a cabin with her.

Sorry that this is late! Hope you like it!
