(Summer's POV)

On Saturday that weekend, I had a sleepover with Isabel. Just Isabel this time, not Nicki and Abby. And that meant Isabel would be bugging me about Shawn again. Great.

"Hi honey, come on in!" Isabel's mom greeted me at the door. "Isabel's in the bathroom but you can put your stuff in her room."

"Okay, thanks Mrs. Rivers!" I brought my bags upstairs and sat down on Isabel's bed, waiting for her. Just then my back pocket started vibrating. I pulled it out and saw that Shawn was calling. Why would he be calling me now? I picked it up.

     "Hello?" I answered.

"Hi Summer, so Bobby and Taylor go to Pickering elementary right?"

     "Yeah, why?"

"Well, I have to drive Aaliyah to school all this week, and I was wondering if you and your mom needed me to bring them too."

"Oh Shawn that would be great! Thank you!"

"And I could bring you too if you want. My Jeep has 5 seats so there is room for all of us. I usually drop Aaliyah off and then drive right to school."

     "Really? Could you?"

"Of course! It's no problem, and we would both enjoy the company."

"Shawn you're an actual life saver! Thank you so much!" I exclaimed through the phone. Suddenly I heard someone clear their throat behind me. I turned around and saw Isabel standing in the door way. "I have to go, but thank you again! See you Monday morning I guess!" I hung up and turned to face my best friend. "How much did you hear?"

"Enough," she smirked. Then her usual excitement took over and she pounced on me. "So now you're talking on the phone? What happened last night? Tell me everything!"

"Okay, okay, calm down! I'll start from where you left." I pulled my hands out of her grip and told her the whole story, starting from when she dropped me off at my house last night, and ending at the phone call a few minutes ago.

"Oh. My. God. Did I like sleep walk into a field of four leaf clovers and lady bugs?! Honestly, it's like the three fates suddenly love me, and in that case, you! Do you know how lucky you are? Most girls are barely even able to say a few sentences to their crush, let alone ride to school with him!"

It's only for a week, and also, if I get to know Shawn more, then maybe you will get to know Brian!" I smiled mischievously at her. She whacked me with a pillow.

"I do NOT like Brian!" I kept looking at her. "Ooookay, maybe I do....... just a little."

"I knew it!" I pumped my arm.

"Wow, best friends and best friends. It's meant to be," Isabel joked.

"Yeah but don't get your hopes up. Shawn would never like me as more than a friend."

"Summer, are you kidding me? You are a beautiful, amazing, funny young woman, and any guy that doesn't want you is out of their minds!"

"Thanks Izzy, but I really think all we will ever be is friends."

Isabel shook her head at me. "Let's eat!" We went downstairs and ate pizza and ice cream. Then we watched a movie before getting in bed. Of course we weren't going to bed yet, we would be up talking for probably hours. This was going to be a long night.

Thank you to everyone who is reading this! I know this story isn't the best, but it's my first one and it ends well. And if you wait with me, I'll write another one that's better, I promise!
