(Summer's POV)
Riiiiinnnngggg, ringggg! The school bell rang.
I jumped out of my seat and ran to my locker. I passed Shawn on my way.
"Meet me at my car outside in 5?" He asked.
"Sounds good," I replied before rushing past him. I stuffed my books in my bag as quickly as I could, and ran outside and all the way to Shawn's Jeep in the parking lot. Somehow, everyone else had gotten there before me and were all waiting.
"Finally!" Isabel fake complained. I looked at them in disbelief before climbing into the car after them. We drove to Isabels house to drop off our backpacks and get our other bags, then to Shawn's to drop off their backpacks, before heading off. Brian started to play loud music and we put the roof down. It felt so good to feel the wind rushing through your ears and to be surrounded by friends, I almost forgot about what had happened between me and Shawn. Almost. After about an hour of driving we arrived at the huge lodge. Allen's parents owned a big house that acted as a sort of hotel. It had a lot of rooms and a lot of space, so every year, Allen's parents closed it down for a weekend for his birthday. It was the biggest party of the year, but also the smallest. Not many people were invited, usually just Allen's friends and the other popular kids. That's why me and Isabel were so excited to go this year. Well, more Isabel. I was kind of just playing along so that she would be happy. Parties weren't exactly my thing. We hadn't even gotten to the front steps yet when the door opened and Allen yelled to us: "Welcome to the party!" The weekend had begun.
Our room had one big bed in the center, with a dresser on one side, a window on the other, and a bathroom. We unpacked our stuff quickly and went downstairs to meet everyone. We saw Jack and Allen, who introduced us to their other friends. I was talking to some new girls I had met, when I suddenly realized that Isabel was gone. I looked for Shawn and Brian to ask them if they knew where she was. I saw Shawn in the corner and started walking over. Then I noticed that he was talking to Alexia. My stomach dropped and I tried to walk away before they could see me. Too late.
"Hey, Summer!" I turned around slowly to see Alexia waving at me. Great. I walked over and put a smile on my face. "I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Alexia," she put her hand out and I shook it. She seemed nice, but it was hard not to hate her. She had everything I didn't, including Shawn.
"Hi, I'm Summer."
"Yeah, I know, Shawn talks about you all the time," she smiled. Wait, was she being serious? I looked at Shawn and he was blushing. What was going on?
"So, Summer, did you need anything? I saw you walking over here," Shawn broke the awkward silence.
"Yeah, I can't find Isabel. I was wondering if you knew where she is."
"Come to think of it, I haven't seen Brian in a while either. Maybe they're together. Alexia do you mind if we go look for them? We can finish taking later."
"Yeah that's fine! Good luck! Nice finally meeting you Summer!" She smiled at me one more time before walking away to her friends.
"Let's go check our rooms first, maybe they needed something," Shawn suggested. We looked in his room first, and found nothing. But when we opened the door to my room I gasped and stepped back in surprise.
(Shawn's POV)
Brian and Isabel were making out! I laughed and they jumped, just noticing that we were standing there. After Summer got over the shock she started laughing too. Brian and Isabel looked embarrassed.
"Finally!" I said once I could catch my breath. "We've been waiting for you guys to get together for way too long." Summer nodded in agreement, still laughing. They stayed silent.
"Okay, we'll leave you guys alone," Summer backed out and gestured for me to follow her. We went down the stairs, but before we could reach the main room, we both burst out laughing again. We couldn't hold it in. "I thought something had happened to them!" Summer exclaimed.
"Well, now at least we don't need to listen to them flirt with each other 24/7," I added. Y/ N laughed again. Brian and Isabel had met because of us, but now they were the ones holding us together.
(Summer's POV)
Soon enough, it was time to get ready for the party. I pulled Isabel out of her seat next to Brian and up the stairs.
"Time to get dressed!" I exclaimed and Isabel groaned. "Don't worry, you'll get to see Brian in like 30 minutes," I assured her, rolling my eyes.
"Alright fine, but only if I get to style you," she pouted.
"Deal." Isabel smiled like a little girl who just got a Christmas present and ran into our room. She pulled out our dresses and started ordering me around. "Take a shower." "Wash your face." "Put that bathrobe on." "Now come here!"
She sat me down and did my make up and hair. When she was finished, I got my dress on and she did her own. Once we were both all ready to go, we met Shawn and Brian outside their room.
"May we escort you beautiful ladies downstairs?" Brian playfully bowed.
"Of course handsome gentlemen," Isabel played along and gently took Brian's arm. Me and Shawn stood there awkwardly for a moment before he held out his arm to me. I took it happily and we followed the two love birds into the party. The party was a whirl of dancing, pizza, laughter, and beer. I didn't really drink so I just had soda. After the pizza was gone the cake came out and everyone sang happy birthday to Allen. This was actually the greatest party I'd ever been to. Everyone was so happy and carefree. I couldn't help but let go of the weight I had been carrying on my shoulders, at least for little while. Or more specifically, for 3 and a half hours. Then it came crashing back like an avalanche. I was happily talking to Isabel by the side of the dance floor. She left to go get some drinks so I stood there looking around. The I noticed that there was a guy walking over to me. I recognized him, he was a senior. He didn't look that drunk so I decided "oh, what the heck".
"Hey beautiful," he said when he got over to me. I pretended like I didn't hear him and kept looking around the party. "Do you want to dance?" He asked. I acted like I had just noticed him.
"What? Oh, sure," I took his hand and he lead me on to the dance floor. We had just started dancing when I felt a tap on the shoulder.
I wonder who that could be??? *wink, wink*
Sorry that this ones a little late but it's a long one so hopefully that makes up for it! Thank you guys! and please vote and comment if you like it!
