[Chapter 6]

*Layla's P•o•v*

I wake up, still a wolf, laying on Colby's lap.
He seems to have fallen asleep as well.
Resting his head on my soft neck.

Should I wake him?

Yeah

I lift up wings, causing a soft gush of wind to blow on him.
His eyes slowly peek open.
He lifts his head up and looks at me
"Hi Layla" he greets me with a warm smile. His eyes sparkling an ocean blue.
I swear I could get lost in them
I turn back, and sit with my legs hanging over the edge
"Hi"

"So... how you feeling?" He asks me. I shrug "don't know. I think I'm angry at my parents for not telling me, but I also understand" I say "being a werewolf is probably a really unsafe thing. So they were probably just protecting me. But at the same time I'm upset the didn't tell me, not even when I was older"
he sighs "ok... do you know what you are?" He asks. I shake my head
"Well your a night wing" I stare confused "your kind were brought to his world to bring chaos and destruction. They were defeated along time ago... but I guess your dad was a survivor"

"B-But how come I wasn't born one?"

"I guess since you mother was a human, you were born one too. But the bloodline still runs in you. And when I scratched you, it brought that side of you out" he had a look of guilt on his face

"D—— do you think I'm a bad person?" I ask him
"No! You are the polar opposite of one! Your kind, sweet, and funny" he responds quickly
I blush slightly "but... my heritage"

"That's not you. Whatever happened back then does not effect you. One. Bit. You can still be yourself"
I smile and give him a hug "Thanks Colby" I say, voice cracking slightly
"No problem."

We sat like that for a while before

"Hey Guys y'all ready to- Oh! Sorry was I interrupting something" Jake says, walking out of the woods

We pull away "uh no, you weren't"
I say smiling

"Ok then. Anyways we were wondering if you still wanted to do you other lesson. Basics?" He asks me
I smile and nod "yeah. I'll be right over"

He nods and walks back into the woods. Turning back into a wolf and running off
I turn back to Colby "thanks again for, calming me down" I thank him again
He smiles "no problem. Now go learn the basics"

I laugh and turn. I face him one more time before running off into the woods

I make it back to the tent and see the girl hanging out and the boys just chilling on their phones.
I decided to scare them.

I sneak up behind the tent and bark loudly

"AHHHH!" They all yell, running out of the tent.
I roll on the ground, laughing... mentally of coarse

"Ugh it's just Layla" Corey says in relief
I smile and nod.

"Ok then I guess we should start basics" Jake says, clapping his hands together

Wolf Colby appears from the woods and sits down next to sam. Great, I have an audience!{note the sarcasm}

"Ok so since you already know know to turn, i hunk we should reach you how to hunt" Corey says. I stick my tongue out and wag my tail.
I hunk I'm getting used to being a wolf
"Ok so Jake's gonna be the prey. And I'm gonna show you have to chase them. Sam you wanna help brother?"
He nods and the 3 turn

Jake runs off into the woods and I watch as Corey chases after him.

He chases him and eventually passes him, diverting him away from the direction he was headed in and back our way.
Once he got Jake over her Sam pounced and knocked Jake down. This would obviously be the part where sam but the animals neck, killing it instantly... what!? I watch animal planet don't judge me!

They all turn, and look at me smiling. Jakes in the ground tho rubbing his head "ow bro did you have to tackle me so hard?" He said, looking at Sam
Sam just laughed "yeah! Remember you took the last pizza roll yesterday!? That was payback" he responded
"Ok theeeeeen." City said, dragging out the word "hunting is all about teamwork. We must work as a pack to catch the prey"

I nod, and stand up. Ready for my turn

"Ok now jakes gonna be the prey again" Jake groans "and your gonna guide him back to me and then imma pounce. Got it?" Corey asked
I nodded and barked

Jake started to run, and I waited for my signal
"go!" Sam yelled. I took off running

Jake spring in between tree's to confuse me. But, it didn't.
I focused on him and noticed a pattern.
Right, left, left, right, left, left, right

Ok I know what he' doing. But I'm not fast enough!
I flapped my wings, projecting me forward. I ended in in front of Jake. Making him tumble, and turn around running back in the direction of Corey.
My plan had worked.
As he got closer to camp I noticed something. I saw a black shadow in the corner of my eye. I came to a stop, and look in that direction.

The shadow disappeared.

I look back forward and see Corey on top of Jake.
I run over to them and turn back.

"So*pant* how'd I *pant* do?" I ask Taking deep breaths.

Corey turned back, still sitting on top of wolf Jake.
"Better than Jake did" he laughed.

I smile and take a seat "Great!" I say

"Hey you good?" Colby asks. He must have turned while I was chasing Jake
I smile slightly "yeah just.. thought I saw something" I tell him.
His face showed pure worry "did you see who it was!? Could it have been a human!?"

I shake my head rapidly "no no! It was a small shadow. With big thing above it. It disappeared tho. If it was a human I would have seen him or her Running. It was probably just a animal" I say

He settles down and nod "ok"

We trained a bit more Before it was time for me to head home. We all said our goodbyes and I left. I had a pretty.. ok? Day.

I made it home and set my bad down.
It was night time now and I was exhausted! All I wanted to do was sleep.
As my eyes start to wall, I'm jolted away by a loud noise *CRASH!*

I jolt up from the couch and look around
"Whose there!?" I yell to the house "Lily!?"

No answer

I hear a low growl from behind me. I gasp and turn around.

A Nightwing... just like me

"Who— who are you?" I ask in a scared tone
He growls again, I back up.

"Don't— don't come any c-closer!" I yell

He morphs into a human. But his transformation was different... it was smoke, not light

He was still in the shadows so I couldn't see his face.
He walked a little closer
"Pls... don't—— dont hurt me..." I whimper

"And why would I hurt you?" The man says "your one of us"

"Wh-who are you?" I ask

"Sorry, can't tell you that"

"Then tell me why-
