Drowning In Fear // Shawn Mendes

Chapter 1

Karina's POV

Today is the day. The day I meet my idol, my everything, and my love.... Shawn Mendes. You don't understand it's not just "oh hey I'm going to magcon to meet Shawn Mendes" i mean he was my life.

See I have a complicated past as in a few years ago I tried to commit suicide and when I heard Shawn's voice like it spoke to me.

Ok that sounded weird...

I mean like when I heard his cover on YouTube I would look into his eyes. I felt like he was singing to me he made me feel worth something

but then I remember he doesn't know I exist. Till today.

See when I heard shawn was apart of magcon I kinda freaked out because I love magcon too. But that meant that he wouldn't be my little secret anymore and that scared me.

So when they went on tour of course I had to go! So my friend Maddie and I got tickets for the Anaheim show and the M&G, witch meant we wouldn't only get to see them preform but get to freaking meet our idols so that's kinda big.

I woke up to my mom screaming at me from downstairs

"KARINA WAKE UP TODAY IS MAGCON MADDIE WILL BE HERE IN 2 HOURS"

Maddie is my best friend I've known her since we were rockin' pigtails (that's a long time) she has always been there for me through thick and thin parts of my life, When my mom told me she didn't know who my father was or when my one of my boyfriends tried to rape me. Yeah, that's a long story I will tell another time.

I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth when a man walked out of the bathroom. See my mom is kind of a HUGE slut she sleeps with a lot of men. So I wasn't surprised to see a random guy coming out of my bathroom.

After I brushed my teeth and my hair, I do my make-up the usual foundation with blush (benefit of course) then liquid eyeliner with a little wing to spice things up, lastly I fill in my eyebrows and put on some mascara.

I go to my closet and pick out some skinny jeans and a shirt that I got of fresh tops this awesome clothing store online that says 'lol your not Shawn Mendes' and change out of my PJ's. I put on some white vans then went downstairs to get some breakfast.

I saw my mom cooking some eggs and got a glass out of the cabinets and poured myself a glass of orange juice.

"So I saw that guy upstairs" I said sipping my orange juice "is he still here?" I said kinda annoyed "no he isn't he left when you were in the bathroom" my mom said scoping the eggs off the pan onto 2 plates.

There was an awkward silence after that. See my mom doesn't really understand me. We don't have a typical mother daughter relationship. To avoid more awkward tension she spoke first "are your excited to be meet those boys you always talk about?"

"Yeah totally, I've been waiting so long for this day" I said as I shove the eggs my mom just made us in my mouth.

"I'm gonna head upstairs" my mom said as she walked away "say goodbye before you leave"

Halfway through my last bite I heard a knock at the door. I put my plate on the sink and run to the door grabbing my purse with my iPhone, charger, wallet w/ $, my camera, and can't forget my lip gloss, oh & our tickets!

I open the door to see Maddie standing there swinging her keys in her hand. See I would drive but we only have one car and my mom needs it to drive to work. Maddie has her own car because she has a job and I don't. I should probely get a job because Maddie isn't the best driver ever.

"BYE MOM BE HOME LATER" I shout upstairs

"OK BE CAREFUL HAVE FUN" my mom shouts back.

Maddie and I run to the car because we can't wait to get to magcon!

"Oh my god Maddie" I say as she pulls out of the driveway "we are on our way to meet Shawn Mendes mad Taylor Caniff!" (maddie's obsessed with him)

"I know I know don't make me cry!!" She said as she turns on the radio, and of course we start jamming to 5 seconds of summer.

Then I see it. The stadium. We pull in to a parking spot and put on our M&G passes.

Now is real. "We are here" I said looking at Maddie. We had been waiting so long for this and now it is finally here! Maddie and I lock arms and walk towards the gates.
