-Jacob's POV-

"Dude are ready for next month" my friend and beta River said excitedly grabbing my shoulder

"No but i have no choice" i sigh out shaking my head and closing my locker after getting my books for Math. You see my dad is the Alpha of the Lumen Pack and next month i will become the Alpha but first i must find my mate. Most werewolves find there mate at 18 and to day is my 18th birthday so i hope to find her/him today so i can take the title in one months time. The Lumen back is one of the strongest and largest in the world, with many allies. To take this role is a very big responsibility so i need my mate to help me out. A mated is your sole mate that god picks just for you there your other half and if they reject you you will basically die and if my mate rejects me i can not be alpha. That and i would die so yeah big deal

"damn right you don't" River teased me as we walk from the Senior wing to the Jr wing to go to our first class. As we walk in the corridor the scent of vanilla and strawberries hit me like a brick wall and I staled.

"What man, look i was just kidding" he said waving his hands in my face wide eyed.

"shhh come on" said walking down the hall

"whats going on" he asked as a small boy ran in to me. i looked down to see the most beautiful blue eyes, the scent was coming from him.

'MATE' my wolf called out. The boy was Alex Lavino a band student i know that much hes also and open gay and I have two classes with him. He has a friend named Kat that is in karate with me. Hes got a quick toung that get him in lots of trouble but kat get him out of it. smart boy thats all i know. I felt my wolf trying to get out and my eyes i know changed but he seemed to not see.

"sorry" i said keeping eye contact

"Thanks" he said darting for our class blushing. I liked that

"whats up man, what happened" River called to me

"I just found my mate" I whispered for only River to hear

"Alex!" he yelled surprised

"Yes shhh, if i wanted to have people know it i would have said it louder!" i whispered/yelled

"Yeah sorry" he said whispering

"When are you going to tell your dad" he asked

"as soon as i get home" i sigh out pulling on my hair is distress. This will be a grate day.
