I sat in Jacob’s lap next to the tree, we sat in silence.

 

“do you want to skip the rest of the day or go back.” Jacob finally asked.

 

“Skip!” I yelled

 

“I don’t think they expect us back anyways.” he said lifting me off his lap and standing, and helping me up.

 

“but--”

 

“we can go on a date” he interrupted me

 

“hey, hey, hey I never agreed to that” I said crossing my arms

 

“Come on Alex...How about a pre-date” He said brushing himself off

 

“what?” I asked. What the hell is a pre-date

 

“we go out ‘date’ and you decide if you want to go out with me for real” Jacob said grinning ear to ear

 

“ok, but if we get in trouble i'm blaming you.” I told him walking over and grabbing his arm

 

“Thats fine with me, if it means spending the day with you” he said kissing my head again

 

“Stop it” I giggle pushing at his chest.

 

“Ok, ok come on where do you want to go. A dinner, movie, drive, what” He asked trying to stay composed.

 

“If this is a pre-date...not a movie I need to get to know you but--” I was cut of by my stomach growling at me.

 

“dinner it is, theres not much here you like gary’s” Jacob said chuckling and grabbing my arm.

 

“thanks” I said as Jacob opened the door for me as we got to his car. He got in the other side starting the engine.

 

“so umm...what music do you listen to” I asked breaking the silence

 

“mostly rock sometimes pop, you” He answered simply

 

“rock and country…how old are you”

 

“17”

 

“I’m 16, birthday”

 

“July 23rd”
