He went back to the interrogation room after talking to Chief Asaytuno. He heard that Warden Corpus has arrived at kasalukuyang nakasalang sa interrogation room.
May mga bantay sa labas pero dire-diretso lang siyang pumasok. Umupo siya sa tapat ng suspect kahilera si Matt, na siyang nag-interogate dito. Nass tabi naman nito si General Lambert. Si Tobby ay nakatayo malapit sa pintuan.
"We reviewed the CCTV and you... Warden Corpus, was seen in the crime scene a few minutes before Inspector Garcia recovered General Santiago's body. Now, gusto ko pong itanong sa inyo kung nakita n'yo si General Santiago sa loob ng comfort room?"
Silence filled the air. They didn't get any respond from the suspect. Nakayuko lang ito at hindi tumitingin sa kaharap.
Matt cleared his throat and changed his question. "Before Inspector Garcia and Chief Asaytuno, entered the rest room ay nakasalubong niya kayo sa hallway tama ba?"
Still, the investigator didn't get any respond from the warden. May takot sa matang tumingin ito kay General Lambert.
On the other hand, General Lambert was seating straight with no expression on his face. He's good in reading people's expression but he can't apply it to the general.
"Inuulit ko ang tanong, nagkasalubong kayo ni Chief Asaytuno at Inspector Garcia sa hallway ng comfort room tama po ba?"
The warden forehead furrowed. His face is also getting red from anger. "Oo, pumunta ako sa comfort room pero hindi ko naman alam na n'andoon si General Santiago. Hindi ko rin itinatanggi na nakasalubong ko sila Chief, wala namang masama kung nakasalubong ko sila 'di ba?"
"Yes, wala naman nga pero bakit hindi n'yo sinagot agad?" Tobby walked to their direction and asked. Everybody can hear in his voice that he's already losing his patient.
Matt orchestrated his hand on the air giving Tobby a signal to not interrupt his interrogation. Bigla anak ng biktima, kahit na isa itong pulis ay 'di dapat ito mangialam sa kaso. Itinikom naman nito ang bibig at bumalik sa dating pwesto.
"Hindi n'yo po nakita si General Santiago sa loob?"
The Warden furrowed his head and shouted. "Hindi! Bakit ba paulit-ulit ang tanong?"
"Hunimahon ka Warden Corpus," saway naman ni General Lambert. Hindi niya pa rin mabasa ang iniisip nito. It's seems something blocking him to do it. Kung naniniwala lang siya sa special power siguro na meron ang General.
The warden bowed his head ang gulp several times. "Kasi naman General, don't you think it's very unfair on my part? Na basta na lang ako i-interrogate?" He shook his head ang let out a sarcastic laugh. "It's just like you're pointing someone to take the blame? Parang ganoon ang dating sa akin eh! Do you have any evidence to substantiate your claim!" He stood up looking so piss.
General Lambert stood up and face the warden. "We're interrogating everyone who seen in the crime scene, hindi lang naman ikaw Warden. Pasensya na kung ganoon ang dating sa'yo, but we just doing the legal process."
"Naiintindihan ko naman General, but the way they're looking at me, para na talaga akong isang kriminal."
"We're sorry for---"
He cut Matt's sentence. Why does he's saying sorry to a criminal? "Your fingerprints found on the doorknob in the cubicle where I found General Santiago's body, how can you explain that?" saad niya kahit naman wala talaga siyang nakita.
"Ano?" the warden asked. His eyebrows furrowed deeper and closer to each other.
"I guess I don't have to repeat what I've said. I know you heard it loud and clear."
