Cory's POV-
All that was shooting through my mind was that I needed to get into that building now. I had worn black for this exact purpose. My years as the son of thieves may finally pay off. Making sure none of the others would notice my dissaperence for the time being, I put on my mask and slipped into the building. No doubt they'll eventually notice. I need to buy myself time for as long as physically possible, or else I may not be able to make this work. I have a plan on how to get her back, but it requires that I work alone. I spotted a couple guards coming from a corner. What do I do? I looked up in a slight panic. The air vent! I should be able to travel in there undetected. With that, I quickly climbed into the vent, sealed the way in, and got to work trying to find out the location I needed to get to.

Adam's POV-
The group was worried about Cory's disappearance, but we decided to get in there anyway. No need to stop now! We ran by a hallway, I caught a glimpse of someone who looked oddly familiar, but I couldn't place my finger on it. She had red and black hair, a red fur scarf, a shimmering black dress with most of her legs exposed in the front, and I also noticed a black and red bracelet stabbing into her wrist. That's gotta hurt a lot! I didn't want to concern myself with it, but she scared me. It's almost like she felt that I was there, even without facing me. Without warning, she appeared right behind us and began shooting what seemed to be corrupted magic, a shot of it just barely missing Alesa's shoulder. Her giggle was high pitched, yet seemed demonic. All of us took off down the hallway, just to see a masked figure in black step in front of us, guarding the group from this girl. He seemed to have gotten to us from a vent in the ceiling.

It was almost like staring through a monitor, but there's no buttons to press. I know that the bracelet is what's doing this to me, but I can't do anything about it. I'm being forced to attack them without any say. When I looked at what I had become, I hated every part of it. It's not the person I am. It's not what I'm meant to be. Looking at them hurt even more. It's like I've changed so much that they can't even tell who I am anymore. I can't blame them. Maybe it's better that way. I was glad to see someone trying to save them and stop me. I just want everyone to be happy. But what can I do? Nothing, that's what. I'll just be crying, waisting away in this empty black void until the clock hits zero. Then, it's all over for me. They can finally live in a wonderful world. A perfect world, stop the Masterminds and be free. They get to live in peace, without me getting in the way. I wanted to stop this way of thinking, but how can I deny the truth? All I could do was watched as this caged angel attacked their protector. They can kill me, and then only one of us will have to suffer. Don't they understand? I'm not worth the trouble of trying to rescue at this point. Tears streamed down my face. This way of thought isn't me, right? It has to be the bracelet! But either way, as long as I'm gone, the world can be wonderful.

    A perfect world, without me...
