Cory's POV-
Running into the forest, I was blinded by black flame, yet I could see. I was out of mind, yet in control. I knew Jason saw me, and every urge in my body was begging me to go back, but my head wouldn't listen. Laco Forest was as haunting as ever, darkness seemed to live permanently inside of it, with only a few streams of light finding cracks in it's fortified barrier. I don't know what's leading me or where, but at this point, do I really have any choice but to follow? Every alarm in my head screamed I was being trapped, but being out of mind, how would I stop it? I just wanted to go back to Shelby, everyone, and explained what I could see through the black flames. A shattered heart, death, empty voids, strings, a black shadow holding control. Running deeper and deeper within, the pace seemed to quicken, and shadows cut deeper. I could sense someone nearby, who they were I'm unsure, but I have a feeling they are no savior. Before I knew it, the mysterious figure was behind me, and my body seemed to freeze. Why can't I move? Cryptic questions seemed to drip from it's lips, but I had no power to answer. "Have you ever wanted to know what it feels like to live inside the empty void? To lose full control? To have every action dictated for you? My, my, having someone else schedule your life would be swell indeed..." I wanted to talk back, to snap, to stop the mental accusations, to attack, yet I couldn't. What do you want with me?" I practically had to spit out, talking had become suffocating. Yet, a few minutes later would intensify that lack of control. "You actually want to know who I am? You're quite funny, you know, I'm surprised no one has even come for you yet. This could be my golden opportunity. Normally, bait like this doesn't come handed on a silver platter, but I guess my efforts were not in vain." It responded. Golden opportunity? What is this person even planning for me? Worse, if it knows about the others, what is in store for them? Will I ever truly know? The light seemed to fade from the world slowly, with something forced over my mouth. With every fiber of strength left to my name, I tried to force it away, but to no avail. My world is being faded to black, forced away from eyes, mind, time. There's only one thing I can do before I fall, I must set things right. My necklace fell through a portal used for shadow travel, along with a section of the cloth I had managed to tear at the last second. Then, I fell...
