Chapter 40

"That's so sweet" Liberty said and came in my room.

"What?" I laughed.

"What Jared said to you a few hours ago" she smiled.

"And you're telling me this NOW why?" I laughed.

"I don't know I was just thinking" she smiled.

Then I knew what was wrong.

"Lib, I'm sure Cole's fine" I said and grabbed her arm.

"But what if he's not?" she said tearing up. "He left right after we came home and realized that Iggy was gone. He never told me where he was going. What if he was involved in her assault?" she looked at me as a tear slipped out of her eye.

"You and I both know he wasn't. If he was Im sure Iggy would have said something by now. I know you miss him." I sighed.

"I love him A" she said wiping her eye.

"And if he loves you too, he'll come back to you" I smiled.

"I hope he does" she smiled back.

"He will" Jared said peeking through my door.

Liberty got up. "I'll leave you two alone" She smiled, sniffled, and walked out.

I sighed.

"Did I come in at the wrong time?" Jared asked and sat down at the bottom of my bed.

"No" I said and through the magazine I was reading in front of me. "If a guy doesn't reach out to you, do you worry?" I said looking at the ceiling.

"Are you having boy problems? What am I doing wrong?" He joked.

"Does he really love Liberty?" I asked.

"You know he does A" he assured me.
"How's Iggy?"

"I don't know I think she's talking to Joseph" I said.

"And the baby?" he said.

"Oh! That's right I need to go buy a test." I jumped up and got my purse.

"And you're leaving me here?" Jared pouted.

I walked over to him. "For now" I said and gave him a small peck on the lips and left the room.

"Liberty" I said walking down the stairs.

"Ya?" she looked up.

"You up for shopping?" I said and grabbed my keys.

"I guess" she said and followed me out to my car.

(IN CAR)

"So where are we going?" Liberty said.

"To get Iggy a test" I said.

"And then" she said.

"Food, mall, I don't know" I smiled.

"Seriously?" she laughed.

"Hey, we need a girls day out" I smiled.

She laughed at my voice.

We finally got to the store.

"Here" Liberty said and picked up the test.

"Okay let's go pay" I said.

(BACK HOME)

"JARED!" I yelled coming in the door.

He came running down worried. "what? what's wrong?"

I laughed. " go give this-" I started then realized I should probably do it. "nevermind" I said.

Liberty and I walked to Josephs room.

"Iggs" I said walking in.

"What do you need?" Joseph sternly said.

"You to let her go to the bathroom." I sternly said back.

"Why?" Iggy said.

"Honey, just come with us" Liberty said.

We finally got to the bathroom.

"What are we doing?" Iggy said.

I pulled out the test.

Iggy covered her mouth. "No" she started crying.

"Iggs, you have to take it" I said.

"I can't. It's not Josephs. HOW DO I TELL HIM!" she cried loudly.

"Iggy he knows" I said and grabbed her shoulders. "Now we're gonna go outside. BUT WE WANNA SEE THE TEST" I said and me and Liberty walked out.

(5 minutes later)

"I'm done" Iggy yelled through the bathroom door.

I walked in.

Positive.

Positive.

"Okay. All of them say positive" I told Liberty.

Iggy broke down crying.

"Iggs I'm sorry" Liberty said and hugged her.

I walked in Josephs room.

"That's it. She's pregnant" I told him.

"What do I do?" He said and through his hands up in the air.

"When this baby is born you will take care of it like it is your own" I walked over to him.

"BUT ITS NOT MY OWN!" he yelled and ripped from my grip.

"That has been made pretty clear" I said.

"I CANT TAKE THIS I NEED-" Joseph started yelling.

"YOU NEED TO SHUTUP. YOU KNOW THIS IS HARD ON IGGY AND WITH YOUR DARN ATTITUDE YOURE NOT MAKING IT ANY BETTER. Joseph, if you don't help her through this she won't live through it. She can't take care of the child on her own. The baby needs a father." I interrupted him.

"Ya the father that made him" he sighed.

"JOSEPH" I yelled.

"OKAY! I'm sorry. I just." He sighed. "I'm nervous"

"Nervous about what?" I asked.

"That I won't be a good father. That the kid won't love me" he looked me in the eyes.

"Bud. You can do this" I Went over to him. "you know you can" I said and walked out of the room.
