"What?! We're not even prepared!" Mirae is the first one to protest at the unannounced talent day. She stood up from her seat and looked around, wanting to gain support from the others. "Well, guys? Are you with me?" she asked. But no one is answering her.
Even Jisung, who is beside her, ignored and looks at the other side. Renjun cleared his throat from the top aisle, gaining everyone's attention. "We're on a university that supposed to polish our talents, Mirae.. Afraid of performing something?"
Mirae got flustered and huffs. "I'm not afraid!" she yelled. "In fact.. I want to go first.." she smirked, then looks at Krystal. The professor just smiled and pointed out the mini stage that has been set up for the talent day.
"The stage is all yours now, Mirae.." Just before she went to the stage, Jaemin arrived, catching his breath. "Sorry, I'm late!" he bowed, then goes to an empty seat. Krystal glares at him. "Don't be late again, Mr. Na.." Jaemin bowed.
Renjun looks at him worriedly. "Still have feelings for him?" Haechan teased him. The chinese boy glares at him. "We're over a long time ago.." Chenle joins their conversation. "Is Jaemin hyung, your ex boyfriend, hyung?"
Renjun rolled his eyes. "Yes, Chenle.. Long story.. I'll tell the story another time, okay?" Chenle nods innocently.
Jisung looks up where Chenle is sitting, and the smaller noticed that the boy is looking at him. He spared a quick glance to the boy and ignored him again, making Jisung felt hurt. "Is he angry at me?" Jisung thought.
Back at the talent sessions, Mirae stood up at the center of the stage and looks at the audience. She started to act distressed and dramatic, speaking some dramatic lines.
"The sun is the light that gives my heart hope and warmth.. How dare you, claiming that you are my sun?" she cried, but too obvious that it was fake. Haechan couldn't take it anymore and stood up.
"That was so lame! Do you call that acting?!" he yelled, making everyone laugh. Mirae rolled her eyes. "Sorry, I couldn't have a proper rehearsal so I didn't executed it well.."
She went down from the stage angrily and stomps her way back to her seat, then smiled at Jisung. "Did I do well, Jisung?" The boy looked at him. "Do you want an honest answer?" Mirae looks at him carefully, expecting a praise. Jisung sighed. "Nevermind.."
Things starts to get interesting when others took the stage. Haechan and Renjun had a powerful duet with their strong vocals. Jeno danced along to a pop song. Jaemin danced as well, showing his smooth moves and sharp rapping skills.
It was Jisung's turn, and he specifically request to play EXO's 'Love Shot'. Before he starts, the chairman of the university, Henry, quietly entered the hall to watch the performances. No one noticed his presence.
Jisung starts to move sharply yet soft at the same time. His body moves according to his own will and is swaying at the music smoothly. During the chorus part, he even lifted his shirt, showing his well-toned abs, that made girls screamed.
Chenle, who was focused on Jisung, blushed really hard when the boy lifted his shirt. "Ah.. Jisung is giving too much fanservice.." Renjun laughs. The smaller was really amazed on how Jisung danced gracefully and with power.
Everyone clapped their hands when he finished his routine. "He's really good.." the chairman clapped his hands.
It was Chenle's turn and he borrowed an acoustic guitar, then sits at the center of the stage. He started to strum slowly the strings and starts to sing. It was IU's 'Through the Night'.
His voice is soft and relaxing, crystal clear that hits the note smoothly and softly, yet with power. His runs at the end of the phrases was amazing too. Everyone is captivated by his voice, and the chairman as well.
"He's so good.." Henry closed his eyes, letting the Chenle's voice lull him to peace.
Jisung is also captivated, not removing his gaze at Chenle. While listening to Chenle's sweet song, he realized one thing. Chenle is a precious baby that he wants to take care of.
