Alyssa's POV
"Where are we going?" Max asked as we climbed into a Diana's dinghy.
"You'll see," Diana replied with a smirk as she started the small boat.
"Oh, no. I am NOT going on one of your silly little adventures!" Max defied as she stood up.
"Too late!" Diana laughed as she pulled away from the dock quickly. Max sat down and crossed her arms in defeat. I laughed at their bickering. Diana always forced Max and I to go on these adventures that Max totally hated. I didn't love our adventures, but I didn't hate them either.
"Okay, where are we going this time?" I asked curiously as I watched the town from the boat.
"Well, since you wanna know so badly, we're going out to Tremp Island to investigate it."
"Seriously?!" Max exclaimed and Diana nodded. "That place is a creepy jungle, and that's not even including what's in the water around it!"
"That's why I want to investigate it!"
"No offense Diana, but I agree with Max. It is kind of creepy."
"Oh, come on! It'll be fun!"Diana tried to persuade us.
"Fine, but only because I have to." Max told her.
We drove out farther and farther from land until we finally got to the creepy jungle. Once we were there we climbed out of the boat and started walking into the jungle.
We hiked and hiked until we got to a hidden cave. We found a pool inside with a hole just above the pool. "This is ocean water." Max spoke up.
"How do you know?" I asked as I examined the pool.
"There are tidal waves," Diana said as she started pulling off her tennis shoes. "Even I knew that."
"Well, I'm sorry that I haven't lived on the beach my whole life like you two." I moved from Arkansas to Florida when I was ten. It was a huge change. I looked over at Diana who was currently stripping down to a bikini that she had under her clothes. "Do you always where a bikini under your clothes instead of underwear and a bra?"
"Only when we go on adventures." Diana shrugged.
"What are you doing?" Max asked.
"I'm gonna see if I can see our boat from here." Diana dove into the pool and swam off.She was gone for about ten minutes and I started getting suspicious. "She's been gone awhile. Do you think something happened?"
"Maybe, but knowing Diana, she'll find her way out." Disagreeing with Max, I started to pull off my shoes and socks. "What are you doing?!"
"I'm going to go look for her." I jumped into the salt water.
I started to go under, but Max stopped me, "Wait, I'll go with you." She pulled off her shoes and socks and jumped into the water. "Let's go." We swam into the ocean and started to look for Diana in the dim light that was provided by the setting sun.
I spotted Diana just relaxing in the water. "Diana!" I called and she immediately popped up.
"It's about time you guys showed up," Diana said as she swam over to us.
"You were waiting on us?!" Max screamed.
"Yeah. The water is amazing out here!" Diana spun around in the water.
"We need to go back." Max reasoned, "It's getting dark."
"I guess so," Diana said sadly as she started back to the cave. "You guys coming?"
