Shiro stood in horror as he peep out from where he was hiding during the ball.

He was on a mission, sneak into the ball steal a key then get out. An easy and simple mission for a member of the blade of Marmora.

But then he saw her, a girl who shouldn't be out or even in such a party. But here she was, in a puffy light purple dress. Light make up covered her truly beautiful face and she looked like a doll. Her eyes dulled instead of the sparkle she once had. 

His eyes sadden as he looked to her, she stood next to a galra commander who were too busy laughing with other galra commanders. She was a toy and she was trapped.

All he needed to do was leave and get the key back to base but he couldn't leave her. 

Not Katie the girl he was falling for .. no that was wrong he already fell for her long ago.

Since the day she gave him a new arm, since the late night phone calls, the laughing, the talking, the small banter. He love her and he needed to save her. 

He knew he should have listened to his bad feeling all those weeks ago and gone to check on her. He knew he should have called even during a long mission just to make sure she was safe. 

He snuck around the ball and once he was close enough he stood before the girl who only grew a little over the year he last saw her face to face. 

"do you trust me" He whisper in her ear as she turned to him with hope, a little life back in her eyes.

"yes" She smiled sweetly making him smile under his mask.

He took her hand before running, listening to the guards yells and footsteps as they chase the two. He turned corners and pulled her closer before picking her up as he ran. He wasn't going to let them have her. They reached his ship and he placed her in the passenger seat before flying off with speed. 

He glance to her once he knew they were a safe distance away and noticed what she was truly wearing. A female posh wife dress for galra. Worry filled his face and anger filled inside of him that someone dressed her in such a way.

The girl he loves

The girl he wants to protect

The girl who was the most important to him.

The girl who truly stole his heart

"d-did he do anything" Shiro asked in a small voice, scared of her answer.

"no i was just a prisoner but he wanted to show me off like a rare doll. Heh i guess i am rare" She said with a small smile.

"your are very rare, i never met a girl like you before and beauty is the rarest of them all" Shiro smiled with a small blush.

"don't lie, i have no beauty compare to others ... just look at how much make up they needed to use and yet i was still not pretty" Pidge frowned.

"i dont not lie, i couldn't lie to you Katie ... you are the most beautiful girl i ever met and i" Shiro started to half yell back proudly but froze.

"and i" Katie asked. 

"i love you" Shiro smiled warmly and turned to her.

"you do" She asked with a smile.
