Mum
It was almost 12 midnight and my husband James was not home yet. I was starting to fall asleep so I decided to keep myself busy as i waited for him to come.
I went to Alice's room and started cleaning it.She had gone for a sleepover at Vee's,her best friend, that's why I started with her room because she wasn't home.
After cleaning for like 20 minutes i heard baby Keam cry and i went to him but i found him in Sam's arms.Keam loved Sam so much because Sam always played with him and brought him lots of gifts unlike Alice who always complained about the baby messing with everything around him but that didn't mean she didn't like him.Sam rocked him back to sleep and he put him back to his bed but before we could get out of the room,he started whining and I took him but he spread his arms to Sam and he took him.
"C'mon lil man, I have classes tommorow i can't stay with you all night"Sam complained but took his arms
"Why don't you go sleep with him in your bed"I suggested and we all headed out of Keam's room.
As i was heading back to Alice's room,I heard a knock on the door and I went to open it.

There he was, sitting at the door with his head between his knees. I helped him up and put one of his arm on my shoulder while I put mine across his back then he leaned on me for support. I led him to the living room and put him on the sofa then i helped put off his shoes.
I went to the kitchen to warm his food and after 5 minutes I came back and put the food on the table.
"Where is Alice?"he asked with his drunken tone
"She is at Vee's for a sleepover"i answered him slowly
"Am happy she isn't home because I don't know how to tell her thaat..she uuhm..she will not have her 11th birthday party"
"But you promised her, you know she's going to be mad at you"i told him calmly
"Yeah, I know but,i..i lost my job today.And the money i have will only be enough to pay for our bills before i get another job"
"Is that why you came home this late and drunk?c'mon hun,I will explain to her the situation and am sure she will understand.I won't stress you by asking how you lost your job,just finish your food then take a shower so we can go to bed" I told him as i exited from the living room to Sam's room to see if he needed any help with the baby.

I found them sleeping and Keam had his little arms wrapped around him brothers neck. I smiled and closed the door and went to my husband.

We had tough days ahead but I knew we were going to be alright.
