10. Don't Have A Choice

"Haylee. You're soaking wet! Where were you? Why are your eyes re- Were you crying? What happened?" He yelled over the loud rain noise.

My body just shut down. I didn't answer. I didn't move. I-I just stood there.

Hayes came closer.

"G-get a-a-away from me!!!" I shouted finally letting words come out.

"H-haylee What's wrong! Talk to me." He said.

By now his wet body was right in front of my soaking body.

I let out a dry laugh, "Talk to you? Talk to you ? You've got to be fucking kidding me. You're the last person I want to talk to right now."

I looked up in the sky, "You know what? You wanna hear a joke?"

Silence. I got silence in return.

"Do you want to fucking hear a joke?!" I was now yelling at him.

His eyes went wide and he nodded.

"I actually believe all those lies. The I like you bullshit. The I love you's. Everything. I believed every fucking bullshit that you said." I yelled looking in his eyes, letting the tears flow.

"What are you talking about?" His facial expression changed looking confused.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Everything. Everything you said. Was all lies. And I was stupid enough to believe them." By now I was choking on my tears.

"Don't fucking touch me!" I yelled in anger as he came closer to me and tried hugging me.

Stepping back and throwing his hands in the air, he yelled back. "I'm so fucking confuse Haylee. So confused. I don't even know what you're talking about. Why would I lie about my feelings towards yo-"

"Because-" I interrupted him

"No, listen." He said running a hand through his hair.

"I fucking love you! You're all over my mind. All I think about is you. I can't get you out of my mind. But the funny part is that you're thinking that I lied to you. After how much I expressed my feelings. Sure, I may not be the good friend. But every single day, I tell you that I love you. And I mean it. I fucking mean it. I was even planning on asking you out on a date today at school. But you didn't even bother to show up." he said catching his breath, finished his speech.

"Then why would you kiss Kira." I whispered looking down at the floor. By now, the rain had stopped.

He let out a breath, "I didn't. She came on to me. As soon as she kissed me. I pushed her off me. I swear. Nothing. Absolutely nothing happened."

I felt his hand lift up my chin and and I looked at him straight in the eyes.

"I promise you, that nothing. And I mean nothing happened. After I pushed her off me. She threw a tantrum. Which was pretty funny." He chuckled, making me smile.

Whipping my tears with his thumb, "are we okay now?"

Nodding,"Yeah, I'm sorry, for exploding, I just felt betrayed and Heartbroken." I sighed.

He grinned, "it's fine. Sometimes is good to let things out, I should get going. I missed football practice. But whatever, I needed to see you. And like I was saying, I know this isn't probably the perfect place, or time, but would you like to go on a date with me? Soon?"

Biting my bottom lip trying to hide a smile, " I would love too."

"Great!" He smiled.

"Would you like to maybe, come inside?" I question.

"I would love too, but my mom is me expecting for dinner."

"Ohh, okay." I said trying to hide the disappointment behind my voice.

"Would you mind coming over for dinner?" He questioned me, throwing me off guard.

"I-I u-um-"

"I won't take no for an answer." He stated, smirking.

Giggling I answered, "I guess I don't have a choice. Do I?"

"Nope." He said popping the 'p'.

Smiling, he leaned in and kissed me in the cheek.

"But I'm going inside to get clothes." I stated.

"Nope. You could just use some of my clothes." He said walking towards his car.

"But-" I said following behind.

"Nope." He said opening the door for me.

Rolling my eyes, I smiled, "thanks."

"No problem my lady." He said closing the door then jogging to the other side.

This should be fun.
